This is the official page for MYTH, the solo project of guitarist/songwriter Scott Young formerly of Alarum and Darkest Dawn. The music of Myth is a collection of tunes written over the last 13 years that haven't fitted into the framework of the aforementioned bands. The material ranges from guitar-driven instrumental, to acoustic pop, to ambient electronica and everything inbetween.
Scott started music aged 10 learning keyboards for a few years, then moving to saxaphone for a similar amount of time, before falling in love with guitar (1990). After the demise of his first band he began working on Myth, before joining Alarum (1995). Work and band commitments led to him shelving Myth for the next few years, until in 1999 he began demoing some of the material (24 songs). Once again band commitments led to the project being shelved.
Upon returning from Alarum's North American tour, Scott joined dynamic goth/metal/rock seven-piece Darkest Dawn in late 2006. In mid 2007 Scott decided he had achieved all he wanted in Alarum and left to focus on Darkest Dawn. Early 2008 saw Darkest Dawn release they're debut album then split up. Since then Scott has been putting all his spare time into demoing the 100+ Myth songs - with an eye to releasing a debut EP asap.
