Mythica is a four piece (and sometimes five piece) Celtic and World inspired folk rock band. Armed with an arsenal of instruments, Mythica tours the East Coast, taking audiences on a sonic rollercoaster ride. Whether they're playing a funk Celtic jam, jaunty Newgrass tune, soulful ballad or driving roots rock song, Mythica is fresh yet familiar, inventive yet accessible.
Mythica primarily plays original material, but they also serve up a hearty helping of rock-ified Irish traditionals and contemporary Celtic songs (Loreena McKennitt's "Mummers Dance" and "500 Miles" by the Proclaimers, to name a few).
Mythica has shared the stage with several national and international acts in rock, Irish and folk music (see left for list). Mythica was dubbed Best Band of 2006 by over 8,000 WSTW 93.7 FM listeners, and Best Celtic Fusion Band of 2007 by Celtic MP3 Music Magazine. In 2008, lead singer Melissa Cox was awarded the coveted award for Best Musical Folk Artist by DE Division of the Arts, and the same year she was honored with Spark Magazine's Best Singer/Songwriter Award.
Mythica performs at festivals, fairs, concert halls, parks and gardens, pubs and restaurants, concert series, cafes, and on sidewalks and boardwalks, committing "random acts of music."

Yes I do confess to having a wee bit of affection for celtic music as you can hear in my song 1-4-3( lighthouse Song)Must be the Irish blood in me, perhaps somekind of primal calling. Yes especially Loreenas haunting music. There is something about it that just reaches deep inside ya, pulls ya right in and awakens that sleeping mystery hidden within us all. Dougie Maclean is another favorite that strikes a chord, and so many incredible others. And now you guys!, great songs! Beautiful sound! Right ta the heart. Thankyou for the request as I am much honored to be your friend.
