Sounds Like
Here’s a video of My Tiny Circus playing Sparkle Motion live

My Tiny Circus sounds like the bastard love child of Gilberto Gil and Insane Clown Posse mewling and puking into a strong headwind.

You, dear MySpace readers, have already proven yourselves smart and creative enough to ....

A) Operate a computer and navigate the web
B) Come up with an amusing MySpace account name e.g. "Dave" (Yes I mean you Dave Halabisky)
C) Leave amusing messages, e.g. "UR HOT !!!", "U SUK !!!", "U ROK !!!" "Your references to Proustian involuntary memory in Tom Perdu are poorly thought out and badly executed !!!" etc.

...and are surely imaginative enough to know what the outcome of that bizarre coupling would be and so for us to further explain would be pointless.

If you really want to know what we sound like then come and see us live IF YOU DARE !!! .....and if you happen to live conveniently close to Ottawa, have nothing better to do on a Saturday night and have five bucks burning a hole in your pocket. It’ll be the best evening of Anarcho-LoungeCore you’ll ever attend.

As the lovely Alan Neal said of us on the CBC Radio 1 program Bandwidth, "A band that can only be described as off the wall" and we don’t think he was referring to the Michael Jackson album....or was he ?

   About My Tiny Circus

My Tiny Circus is a LoungeCore collective that’s a cool mix of swinging original jazz and Latin-jazz fusion tunes and has a fiendishly brazen vibe all of its own. Performed a la Las Vegas bar lounge, it’s a style that’s bound to both pleasure and tempt you with lyrics more reminiscent of heavy metal rock and head banging punk bands. This rare combination of silky smooth instrumental combined with contentious content is neither palatable for the religious nor resonates well with the politically correct. You’ll love it!

The sound of sweet subversion is nicely packaged in this group of eight. My tiny Circus plays jazz with an expert hand - lead vocalist, Sacha Gabriel’s velvet voice and cheeky style caresses every note and draws you into each songs indecorous spell. What man wouldn’t be enticed by a straight shooting temptress who croons about not having “the balls to tell him what she’s really feeling?” It’s a unique style that really works.

1-800-666-HELL now there’s a number to call, both fabulously funny and irreverent at the same time, it pushes all the buttons and begs an encore after the last note is strung. “It's a fine line between control and chaos," they say. “If we cross that line it’s because we want to see what it looks like from the other side.” My Tiny Circus is no stranger to the line, “we flirt with the line and then, when the line is suitably smitten, we slyly caress it.” Err, yup.

My Tiny Circus’ sets are full of the group poking fun at itself as well as at the human experience. Take for instance, “Loser Magnet”, a song that’s sure to resonate with all from a time past (or present perhaps), or "Stella got hit by a bus" based upon a band members unfortunate collision.

My Tiny Circus’ music is well crafted, unpretentious and good fun, a must for the initiated and the uninitiated alike – but be warned, it’s definitely not for the humorless.

When you get bored with the songs on this site (I know it's unlikely but indulge me), please visit My Tidy Circus at www.myspace.com/mytidycircus for live tracks, radio interviews and other MTC related musical detritus.

Hear them live the first Saturday of every month at Avant Garde Bar, Ottawa.

So!

How did things go last weekend?

Perhaps it's a good thing that we didn't see you on Saturday, as there's a bit of a black cloud following me around lately!

Arthur encountered a glitch with Immigration while getting into Canada, so he's not legally allowed to play a show in a bar, restaurant, or café. But he's allowed to do radio... Damn.

The following night, I'm the last person to officially play Rasputin's, as it burnt down 30 minutes after we left the venue!!!

Crazy!

So, until I get the all-clear from Montreal and Toronto, I suggest that you all stay well away from me, because, well... It's all about me!

Take good care!

Allo Clarinet Man!

How are things lately? Staying out of trouble? Could life be that boring?!

Can't believe I'm leaving town in six days! Yikes!

Still no confirmation for Peterborough... Grrr...

See you this week, right?

I got some of that, but what does it equal? BFF?

Anyways, it was great fun, and thanks so much for doing the show with me last night! I look forward to more! Just need to have the rain dealt with, that's all! (And not too much heat either, otherwise everyone will want to be on a terrace...)

Talk soon!

Thank you (;

I really love your sound.
I feel like I have been taken back to the 60's, but wasnt born in that era. I watched plenty of movies, listened to music and read the books form the 60's though. Love-it!

The band sounds great and the singer is Dreammmmmmy.

Personally, I don't think you are a band that can ONLY be described accurately as "off the wall"...other adjectives come to mind, Steamy Teapot, yes they do. But they might go to your head, so just forget it...

Tesla?

No, we're all incredibly handsome young men, sort of Backstreet Boys meets N-Sync. The lack of photos is simply due to us not wanting any other bands to see our incredibly awesome wizard and sorcerer costumes/capes and steal our image. We've already had a national act steal our syncronized stage moves and hairdos.

Here's a photo of us (out of costume) from our recent Tiger Beat foto sesh:

Allo-allo!

How was the wine in wine country? And the skiing? Hmmm? No broken legs/arms/pelvi/brains?

I enjoyed more than my fair share of Mission Hill ice wine! Yummy!

Looking forward to catching up!

"The idiot savants of Anarcho-LoungeCore" ...

But mostly idiots, right?

Look. I'm exhausted with working nearly 12 hour days or I would have a much more agile put-down for you guys, Ottawa's best if not most stable troupe of lounge-core monkeys...

It's been one of those days.

How about a bit of recording on Saturday? I'm expecting Arthur to email some MP3s for your enjoyment. And we'll go from there.

What time would suit, if at all? I've got a wedding to play at 6:30, however...

And thanks!

Regarding previous post, and in the interest of fairplay, I should say your being a Brit Limey is no worse or better than being an American.

I am everything, or everything that genetically figures in the lost innocence of this once gentle land (minus a buffalo jump, panty raid and odd scalping or two), which is to say, I am more than most and packing papers for Eire/EU/Canucktity and 'Murica, and as such, feel no compunction whatsoever in making such rooty-tooty declarations.

Brits are fey. Americans jingoistic. And Canadians like to generalize. And make mapel syrup. What Micks do, I think I'll keep to myself for the time-being.

Yes, in my wondrous Everything-ness I am nothing, but Nothing with a capital "N" and so free.

Just think about it,
ms corbett

Ps. MY TINY CIRCUS has dastardly cunning satirical tunes, you people. Please keep this in mind as the spectre of stuffing the forlorn toe of Christmas stockings looms nigh.
