DEVELOPED FOR PRESCHOOLERS BY A MOM
With degrees in voice and music education and two young children, Mona Dena left a career in the public education system and ventured to develop a program focused on teaching children to sing. The success of her program, which incorporates elements of the Kodaly methodology, movement and instrument exploration, lead to Mona recording many of the songs used in her classes… and the MY TUNES series was born!
IDENTIFIABLE CHARACTERS
Each MY TUNES compilation features an adorable character with graphics that appeal to preschoolers and tie in with the songs featured on its collection. Patterson is a funny blue dancing outer space friend adorning a smoke stack and flying a kite on MY TUNES 1. Jackson is a bright yellow baseball ball playing friend running with some critter pals on MY TUNES 2. Henrietta is a pink friend playing with ABC blocks and a silly balloon on MY TUNES 3. Each character appears to invite young listeners to play along with them while listening to the music.
UNIQUE SONG GROUPINGS
One of the most desirable features of the MY TUNES series that distinguishes these recordings from others on the market is the unique song groupings. Each MY TUNES compilation features two overall themes specifically chosen to enhance the learning aspect of each child’s listening and interactive experience:
OUTDOOR FUN & LEARNING (MY TUNES 1) introduces your child to entertaining songs about trains, oceans, mountains, meadows and all that you can encounter in the great outdoors. While motioning like a train, pretending to swim, or just singing and dancing along to the music, your preschooler is growing their imaginations!
PEOPLE & PLACES (MY TUNES 1) includes many classic children’s songs for parents to re-learn and enjoy with their youngsters. This song grouping theme helps children discover some of the people and places that make up their neighborhood and the world around them.
FUN & MOVEMENT (MY TUNES 2) features silly, playful songs to which you and your preschooler will want to dance and play along! And while you’re both having fun, your preschooler is building fine motor skills with songs like "Where Is Thumbkin” (finger and hand gestures) and gross motor skills with the songs that make them move their bodies!
CREATURES BIG & SMALL (MY TUNES 2) is full of exciting and imaginative songs about animals, birds, bugs and even teddy bears! Your child will sing, rhyme and giggle, while learning about sizes, colors, counting and more.
INDOOR FUN & LEARNING (MY TUNES 3) and ME, MYSELF & I (MY TUNES 3) are chock full of fun themes and sing-alongs for preschool boys and girls. Silly songs about clothes, senses and emotions will help develop your child’s self awareness and esteem. And not only is the music fun, your child will be learning and building speech & language skills while singing-along to songs about colors, numbers, and the Who, What, Where, When and Hows!
HIGH QUALITY RECORDINGS
MY TUNES are among the highest quality children’s music recordings on the market today, featuring top notch production, songwriting and pleasing vocals. The music has elements to amuse preschoolers without sacrificing the pleasure of other listeners. Each song is enhanced with a variety of voices (children and adults, males and females), fun instrumental sounds and a diversity of musical styles.
GREAT SONGS!
MY TUNES features many familiar children’s classics as well as brand new original songs you’ll soon love. Most of the songs are well-known, traditional American Folk songs that have been passed down from generation to generation as rich expressions of both our culture and musical heritage. These songs possess the ingredients that most effectively enhance development of a child’s singing voice and musical ear.
