Bio
XEROSUN are a four piece metal band originating from Dublin, Ireland. The band members are guitarists Fiachra Kelly & Gareth Jeffs, drummer Darrin Bell and bassist & vocalist Ivan O'Sullivan. Combining an eclectic mix of influences, XEROSUN produce a melodic, powerful, aggressive and above all, original sound. Crossing the boundaries of heavy music with soaring and passionate vocals, they have carved a place for themselves in modern metal. Relentless gigging commenced across Ireland, Northern Ireland and into the UK. As the band progressed, the crafting of their sound and vision continued with music videos shot to coincide with two EP releases. These efforts culminated in the band making their live television début to an audience of 500,000 people on Irish national television. Following this, XEROSUN played as the sole support act to the mighty Avenged Sevenfold on the Irish leg of their world tour. The sold-out gig held in Dublin's famous Olympia Theatre saw a very receptive and engaged crowd singing along to XEROSUNs lyrics and chanting for more. September 2011 saw the guys sign with UK label Rising Records to help bring their sound to the masses. Their début album "Absence of Light", released on the 19th Dec 2011 by Rising Records has been gathering fantastic praise from the Metal and Mainstream press alike. It was awarded the maximum 5 out of 5 by UK's Black Velvet Magazine who described it as a "…dark sounding industrial monster… drawn together brilliantly and magnificently done". Kerrang! magazine praised it as "…atmospherically intense…" & "…hookily brilliant…" awarding it three K's. UK Metal Hammer magazine named it "…a killer record…" with "…a great deal of ingenuity and some stunning tunes…" awarding it 7/10 and Irish Hot Press Magazine called it "…a melodic molten slab of heavy metal that immediately evokes the thunder…" and awarded it 4/5. The album can be purchased on-line from Rising Records website http://www.risingrecords.org/, iTunes, Amazon.co.uk and all good retailers. Absence of Light contains artwork provided by famed artist Seth Siro Anton. Seth's artwork can be found on the covers of other metal greats such as Paradise Lost, Soilwork, Caliban, Septic Flesh and Kamelot. XEROSUN have also forged some great working partnerships by officially endorsing Hartke Bass Amps, Mayones Guitars and Basses, ISP Technologies, ACS In Ear Monitors, Samson Technologies, Taurus Bass Effects, Murat Diril Cymbals, Offset Drum Pedals & Klieber Audio. With tour dates in the UK and Europe looming on the horizon and new songs already in the works, XEROSUN are well on their way to conquer the world one crushing, melodic step at a time. -
