About Nabob / Starbuxxx

NABOB a/k/a STARBUXXX, a/k/a Brian Barksdale, was born and raised in Scarborough, the heart of hip hop culture in Toronto. Entering the rap scene in 2003 Nabob has since been captivating crowds and influencing listeners with his lyrics, flows, swagger, and distinctive vocal ability. This truly multi-dimensional artist does not plan on simply being labelled as an emcee. Nabob’s talents extend beyond his emcee skills; he has also taken on the entrepreneurial role. This 27-year-old enterpriser also wears the C.E.O hat over at Barksdale Entertainment & Promotional Services.

Nabob’s claim to stardom came from his rigorous contribution to the Canadian mixtape circuit over the past decade. Through consistently hot freestyles, R&B remixes, and original records Nabob has established a rapidly growing niche following. He was commissioned by producer 2 Rude to be on the 2004 remixes for Keisha Chante’s singles “Does He Love Me” and “Bad Boy” released by BMG Canada.

With a long list of remixes and mixtapes under his belt (over 30 remixes and 40, 000 promotional CDs circulated to date), he might as well be titled Canada’s Remix King.

With the release of his third solo mix CD, “Certified Grind” Nabob also released his debut video “Gotta Luv It” which garnered plays on Much Music, Much Vibe, and placement on countless promotional Hip Hop DVDs.

Not slowing down for even a minute, Nabob’s highly anticipated debut album titled “Mission: Statement” is scheduled for a summer 2008 release.
