NACHTPSALM is the name of the project, where my long forgotten and band neglected laments ,are hidden in the dephs of my harddisk.These songs should not rest in peace - because they were part of my life and part of my need of expression. In the course of time my mind widened and i got a broad view in finding joy in different kinds of music, and as the years passed by i developed an eclectic musical understanding trying combining all things, i like, under one name - Each influence has its own special abillity of expressing moods and feelings . - harshness, power and brutallity from METAL, marching rythtms from INDUSTRIAL and EBM, awe and might from CLASSIC orchestral work an SCORES, melody , the language of the heart, from GOTHIC-Rock and 80..s POP, theatralical structures from MUSICAL are the ingrediences of the Nachtpsalm sound.
For further years I am dreaming of a conceptional work using the knowledege of a musical collective including DJs, different vocal and visual artists, beatmasters and remixers and of course "real" musicians instead of the PC ) with the aim to create a piece of music crossing all borders and to provoke the soundtrack the age of aquarious :-) . But one thing after the other i..ve first to learn how to make my NACHTPSALM demon to walk his first steps on his own.
We are all living on borrowed time and so my time has come to leave traces in themud to witness my living, loving and leaving for music and life.

NACHTPSALM - is the incorporation of our desires , fears , guilt and instances.
The Name is set together out of NACHT - german.
for night , standing for the inner darkness and neglected emotions and desires.
By choosing the word in German a cold intellectual , heathen although realistic background should be symbolized.
NACHT is connected with the word and meaning of PSALM -
in my interpretation standing for the active will and eternal search for truth and salvation.
NACHTPSALM is be the missing link between ratio and emotion.
The Concept behind is that we have to realize our personal demons and by knowing them, we should be able to overwhelme ourself .
By titeling the songs with story fitting word creations of medicinical, philosophical, religious, historical, psychological hints, clues and backgrounds the listeners should be encouraged to read between the lines, to reflect, and to look behind the obviouse for his own interpretation.

NACHTPSALM is the musical vision of Gerald Polda.
originally concepted 1996 as a one man project creating a unique sound between classical electro-gothic rock and cyber industrial Metal.
Influenced by bands like Waltari, Candlemass, Pain, Ayreon, Zeromancer but also due to the sounds of Apoptygma Berzerk, Combichrist and Fear Factory
- it was soon clear that the personal musical developtment wouldn..t care for any limitations (the only limit is set by the free will) .
Since 1993 Gerald P. never lost the will to create his own legacy in music while beeing involved in different bands (Divination, Totentanz, Blutmond -
all between Power and Death-Black Metal).
To reach a homogenous sound, old songs and new ideas were brought together and in this creating process NACHTPSALM dug out himself out of his mental grave again in 2008.
In May 2008 The time was ready to give NACHTPSALM a home and so the digital tomb was set on the electronic graveyard of myspace. In search to give Nachtpsalm a voice soon later in Jake Perkins
(padded walls) a wizard and visionaire was found who breathed life to the NACHTPSALM monster. Due to this collaboration NACHTPSALM combines the art and style of two worlds
(Jake P. - the new world, and Gerald P- the old world) and so the real home of NACHTPSALM must be set in the twilight world of the cyber space, crossing mental and spatio-temporal borders.

Present Activities:
Because of the distances of the living space between the both protagonists, Jake and Gerald, any live activities will be excluded.
The next aims are beside promotional work on samplers and getting heard by interessted people to produce enough songs for making a silver shmmering medal (full lengh CD) to witness our existence on this planet .
At the moment i am working on "Free your mind sampler" - zeitgeist pt.2 , sampler - "urban incubation" and the sampler "Feld der Ehre" .
