"Mr. Ruaradidh Sanachen has been getting a name for himself recently with his one man kosmische metal space ritual project Nackt Insecten, releasing plenty of limited edition "stuff" on a whole bunch of labels. In February 2008, as part of Glasgow's wonderful Instal festival, he was seen cradling a suitcase full of howling drone/noise aboard Glasgow's tube trains, and what a show it was. As Nackt Insecten's relentless sounds meshed in perfectly with the locomotive rumblings, I thought to myself what a fine 7 inch single it would make. And sure enough, over a year later, here it is. An explanation made by a member of the "audience" to a worried fellow traveller provides the title.
This package also contains a CD of new Nackt Insecten studio concoctions, a conceptual sequel to the recent LP on Blackest Rainbow Records. A real CD too, not a CDR! Cover art by Goldenlab's Fliss Horrocks and the inclusion of a genuine Glasgow tube train ticket completes this handsome package" - Phil Todd
"This is a pretty-much faultless piece of Glasgow-based 70s-sourced psychedelic futurism. “Quantum Odyssey” rides drone routes that play out in the very edges of analogue that lie the closest to disintegration, melodies lazing inches from the spinning meteors of Saturn’s loop. Occasionally these cracks rupture into short-lived but boiling feedback, most noticeably on the opening “Sabbath’s Head”, but it’s the album’s swirls of colour around its melodies that always win out. There are touches here and there of the processed psych routes blazed by acts like Astral Social Club and Ashtray Navigations, but Nackt Insecten keep their sound clearer and more stable than their peers. 9/10" - Foxy Digitalis Review
Nackt Insecten / Kylie Minoise - "Beyond the Stellar Filth" Split LP on Harbinger Sound
Ltd. 100 copies
I'm now sold out. Order from Harbinger Sound - harbingersound at lineone dot net
"Limited edition of 100 copies split LP only ‘officially’ available direct from the label and the artists themselves. This one presents some earlier material from both groups, recorded live at the 13th Note in Glasgow in November 2006 and features Minoise in classic actionist-assault mode and Insecten in his early punk-primitive one cymbal, one microphone and a ticket to oblivion phase." - VT description
Dylan Nyoukis / Nackt Insecten split C23 on Sick Head
NOW SOLD OUT
"Two tracks inspired by PK Dicks 'The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch'. Colour cover in vinyl case
Nyoukis 'I'll give you a translation world in which you're a rotting corpse of a run-over dog in some ditch'... where creeper drone is the order of the day to the detriment of all souls regardless of translation world location. Insecten 'The Telepathic Jackal' ..by which the realms of good taste are again bypassed in the name of final frontier expansion" - Label description

Live on Glasgow Underground for Instal Festival, 2008:
FUTURE:
"Reality Bridge" LP on Blackest Rainbow, tapes on Young Tapes and Lotus Birth, Split 10" with TBT on Cosmic Slumber.
This is the first set from the slightly tweaked Beach Fuzz line-up with Fliss Horrocks now playing guitar alongside Tom Settle and Nick Mitchell. Seven tracks of clattering drums, chugging and wailing guitars, screaming keyboards, mellow, lilting pastoral improv and moaned vocals.

Recorded at The Bowling Green pub in Manchester on 17th November 2008, when Bridget was on tour with Marcia Bassett, this is a maximal 25-minute set of epic guitar brutalising and deep, moaned vocal incantations. Employing a bow and 'metal' effects pedals, the resulting cacophony is orchestral in scope, rendering almost unreliable the memory of one woman and her instrument. Somewhat akin to Bassett's duo with Matthew Bower, Hototogisu, the deeply layered tones created by Hayden offer, upon first exposure, a somewhat icy auditory experience, but as the recording settles in, the richness and sheer breadth of sound wraps around you like a feather quilt and shifts your perception almost 180 degrees. A truly magnificent set from this former Vibracathedral Orchestra member.

We are very proud to welcome Rudi Zygadlo to the club this month for a special live performance. Recently signed to Planet Mu, Rudi injects skewed funk, wonky hip hop and polyphonic melodies into a glitchy dubstep sound that we can't get enough of right now, check out the tracks on his myspace: www.myspace.com/rudizygadlo
Residents are the usual two brothers and their mate with (almost) the same last name, we'll play a mix of reggae, dubstep, hip hop, jungle and I've been looking out a few wonky acid tracks as well.
Sound is once again provided by our very own system (below, photo by Spudd) and there will be some kinetic lighting installations by R.Thomson and ACD Ferguson as well..
THIS THURSDAY 27th AUGUST - NICE'N'SLEAZY - 11.30/3 - $2/3
This Thursday we welcome the mighty DJ Chakka Chakumaki down to our monthly at Sleazys bringing with him the finest dubstep in Glasgow and making his return to the basement after his own club there ended because the plates in the Loon Fung next door were rattling off the tables! We're doing our best to provide plenty of bass and will be bringing down our (as yet unnamed) rig for support - you can see it pictured below with Jerome behind the decks at the Midgefest free party (I think at about 10am). The usual residents Thomson, Thomson & Thompson will play an eclectic mix of Reggae, Jungle, Techno, Breakcore, Dub and everything else in between.
