Nadia was born in Manchester, UK, spent her early years in Jamaica and then moved back to Manchester. She began teaching herself the guitar when she was fifteen, after hearing Alanis Morrisette and Sheryl Crow. But she has been influenced by a lot more than '90s girl singer songwriter types.
Jamaica gave her reggae, ska, blues and country. Manchester gave her rock and indie and a spell at Durham University gave her acoustic and folk. Electro and dance came from not being able to drive and sitting in her twin brother's car! She just can't resist a good genre when she hears one.
When she had reached two hundred songs she figured she should do something with them. In February - March 2007 she recorded part of a reggae album in Jamaica with Delroy Walker, drums (Manchester, UK) and Brutus Richards, lead guitar (Port Antonio, Jamaica). She will finish this when she returns to Jamaica next year. She is now working on an acoustic album which should be finished soon.
Her first release is 'Hurricane' by San San (dance/electro) on which she provides guest vocals. It will be out on the 5th of November 2007. All the proceeds from the sale of this single will go to the victims of Hurricane Dean in Jamaica.
