Nadine Greiner was born in 1983 in Groningen (Netherlands). At the age of eight she started playing the piano, mostly classical music. She comes from a musical family and has heard a lot of different styles of music. Although, jazz has always been the favourite. Without being consious she was singing solos of Dexter Gordon, Eric Dolphy and Joe Henderson in back of the cd’s.
At the age of fourteen she started playing the saxophone, finally the solo’s could be played on a real horn!
In 2006 she got her bachelordegree of art at the jazzdepartement of the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen. There she took lessons from many wellknown teachers from New York and Holland. Miguel Martinez, Don Braden, Ralph Peterson, Dick Oatts and Joe Lovano are some of them.
With her international group she played aswell modern jazz, ownwritten pieces as classical standards.
Hey Nadine, Lang geleden! Alles goed? Hier wel hoor! Amsterdam is zeer leuk! Het enige minder leuke is dat veel leuke sessies gestopt zijn de laatste tijd... Er was altijd een leuke in de Kluis. Ik geloof dat ie nu weer op dinsdag is begonnen, maar ben er nog niet weer geweest. Was/is altijd leuke sfeer daar. Zowel profs als studenten spelen er. Verder heb je op dinsdag het bimhuis, maar ik vind de sfeer daar helemaal niks! Meer concert sfeer, geen sessie sfeer, veel studenten. Op dinsdag heb je ook een keer per twee weken de Kring. Heel leuk, hoog niveau, maar daar moet je op de lijst staan om binnen te komen. Benjamin Herman is sessieleider daar. Verder op maandag Amstelhaven. Leuke sessie, alleen studenten. Op zondag is er een braziliaanse sessie. Heel hoog niveau. Was altijd in College Hotel nu verhuist naar andere locatie waar ik nog niet ben geweest. Verder zijn er nog wat kleine dingen waar ik nog nooit ben geweest en dus ook niet weet of t leuk is... Ciao!
