Bio
Nadine's passion for music started early on. At home, in Montreal, she composed her first song at the age of seven. Inspired by artists such Suzanne Vega, Cindy Lauper, Serge Gainsbourg, ABBA and Air Supply, Nadine took up piano and guitar as a teenager and continued to hone her craft. Having lived in Mexico, Italy and Germany, she developed an incomparable sound and linguistic palette. Her deep vibrato and evocative lyrics hit a range of emotions. In 2004, armed with a law degree and an acoustic guitar, she made her way to New York and settled in the East Village, where she performed regularly at the Rockwood Music Hall, the Apocalypse Lounge and the Knitting Factory. During this time, met Joe d'Ambrosio - manager of Tony Visconti, and she collaborated with producers John Robie (New Order, Afrika Bambaataa, Bette Midler) Philip Carroll (R.A.D) and Morgan Z (Chrome Canyon) on a collection of original, melancholic songs in English, French and Spanish. Inspired by the resurgence of electro in the early 2000s, she composed the dancy single "Let It Go" which was featured in Brittany Blockman and Josephine Decker's indie documentary "Bi the Way". Always looking to broaden her musical horizons, Nadine made her way to Los Angeles where she formed a duo with her friend and fellow musician, Terence. Together, they performed regularly around LA at spots like Three of Clubs, Hotel Cafe and the Bootleg Theater. In 2010, Nadine teamed up with producer/musician John Tagamolila and formed the band Hearts of Fire. Hearts of Fire recorded a demo, which caught the attention of RKO Records. Produced by Eugene Toale at Bedrock Studios in 2011, with the support of RKO Records, "Transatlantic Relations", is Nadine's first solo EP. -
