NADIR D’PRIEST
began his musical career in Hollywood as the vocalist for the Los Angeles based band "Vertigo" and went under the pseudonym "Nadir D'Priest." He moved to center stage when he became the frontman for the L.A.-based rock band, LONDON. LONDON'S band members included some of rock's most notable musicians, a few who later moved on to become members of Motley Crue, Guns 'n Roses, W.A.S.P. Cinderella, among many others. LONDON signed to German-based Noise Records/BMG's U.S. entity, and at the recommendation of the Noise Records' then-U.S. president, Bruce Kirkland, the band's name was changed to D'Priest.
Their debut album on Noise/BMG "Playa Del Rock" was produced by famed producer Richie Podolor (StepenWolf, Black Oak Arkansas, Alcatraz) among many many platinum artist's. All the music and lyrics written by Nadir and the boy's, "Playa Del Rock" was a hit in Europe, and did extremely well in the U.S. Nadir produced their MTV music videos, and toured the U.S. and Europe and Latin America. LONDON also has been featured in the blockbuster movie “THE DECLINE Of THE WESTERN CIVILIZATION PART II THE METAL YEARS” directed by non other than Penelope Spheeris (Waynes World, Duddes, The Beverly HillBillies, Hollywood High, We Sold Our Soul for Rock&Roll) and the list goes on. Nadir has also appeared on Roger Corman's King of B Movies (Hollywood Boulevard Part II) this is a comedy where LONDON performs a musical track on film.
In 1993, D'Priest's former manager asked Nadir to join a new company, Second Vision New Media out of New York, which had been contracted by the Rolling Stones to produce a groundbreaking music CD-ROM. His experience performing, touring, record-producing, song writing, production and directing videos gave him the unique ability to see this medium from the artist's and record producer's point of view. He was subsequently appointed Project Director on what became the critically acclaimed groundbreaking The Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge CD-ROM. In 1995, upon completion of the Rolling Stones' project, he returned to his true métier - songwriting and performing Live!.
Nadir was born in Mexicali Baja California, Mexico, and as a "native son" raised in the Los Angeles California area from the time he was 6 years old, he felt it was time to get back to his Latin roots. He combined his Latin heritage with his unique style of American Rock 'n Roll; writing, arranging, producing, recording, and playing drums on a repertoire of original songs in his native tongue - Spanish - making an exciting new contribution contemporary pop/rock music - En Espanol. Nadir has also performed a Ronnie Wood track in Spanish from Mr.Ronnie Wood solo album titled (“Slide On This”) "You Always Wanted More That I could give You" ("Siempre Quiciste Mas" translated into Spanish) This is the essence of his debut solo release under the name Antonio Nadir the album is titled Tatuaje."Tatuaje was produced by non other than Matt Sorum (Guns&Roses, Velvet Revolver) and Nadir., co-produced by the talented guitarist's Lanny Cordola (House of Lords). This release trough Barcelona Spain based label Picap Records.
Later Nadir D'Priest joined Metal outfit Steel Prophet for a brief stint. This album is available trough Massacre Records Germany and it is tittled "Beware' inlcuded on Beware is the first music video ever by SP tittled "Leatherette". Get LONDON's new album titled
