Vocalist, lyricist, guitarist, composer...and very likely Philadelphia's most uniquely and genuinely talented music artist today. Naeemah's debut CD was recently produced at Studio Curve Dominant. Naeemah began singing before she could even talk. Born and raised in the Logan section of North Philadelphia, Naeemah grew up listening to Prince, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Junior Walker and John McLaughlin. Throughout Naeemahs school days she was constantly involved in orchestras and concert bands. She also toured with a professional theater company in high school (The Rainbow Company). In the 10th grade she discovered her love for rock music. Listening to bands such as Chilli Peppers, STP, Metallica, Alice in Chains and of course Smashing Pumpkins she requested that her father teach her guitar. Naeemah went on to study music at Temple University in both the classical and jazz departments. In the past year, Naeemah has been tearing up the local live music scene with her solo performances at venues such as Fergie's Pub, Abilene, World Cafe Live, the Grape Street Philadelphia and the Five Spot, where she has wowed audiences and developed a large and loyal following of fans. Rarely does any singer/songwriter accomplish the fusion of R&B and rock so seamlessly and effortlessly. Variously compared to artists as diverse as Alanis Morrissett, Jeff Buckley, and Stevie Wonder, Naeemah seems destined to create her own inimitable archetype.
