Nae Regrets is the Celtic-Fusion project of Bagpiper Don, blending Highland Bagpipes with various percussion -- most recently featuring the INCREDIBLE drum kit playing of Thane.
PAST
Nae Regrets was originally known as Circle Of Stone starting with Bagpiper Don and drum-kit player friend Anthony in 2005(?) when Bagpiper Don was wrapping up his sessions as Highland Bagpipe front-man of The Bag'n'Pipe Hoppers. Bagpiper Don and Anthony played a couple of shows and did a little recording, and just as soon as getting the project going, had to take mutual hiatus'es to wrap up stuff in their personal lives.
Making a go of it again, Bagpiper Don and Anthony put the project back together in time for NW Folklife Spring-2008. It was clear that the name "Circle Of Stone" wasn't working for the duo, so they changed it to Nae Regrets -- after a track title on Celtic-musician Martyn Bennett's last album "Grit" (RIP).
Now, as Nae Regrets, Bagpiper Don and Anthony with the hand-drumming skills of future mega-star actor Gabe recorded a Session which became the first CD "CRAB Hall Session 05.08.08".
Although it was a good experience, it became clear that a shift in the orginization was occurring -- one that was proposed in January 2008 when the band came out of hiatus -- that this would go from being a band to a project of Bagpiper Don's, where he would pipe and bring in different percussionists, musicians and dancers.
