The drummers that inspire my playing directly these days tend to be groove-oriented players, with enough skill to play rock-steady grooves, and show off when the music calls for it (along with a couple of chop animals):
Daniel Adair
(Nickelback, Martone)
Ben Hall
(The Butterfly Effect)
Jeff Campitelli
(Joe Satriani)
Taylor Hawkins
(Foo Fighters)
Chad Szeliga
(Breaking Benjamin)
Nick D'Virgilio
(Spock's Beard, etc)
Morgan Rose
(Sevendust)
Ray Luzier
(Army Of Anyone, Korn)
Neil Sanderson
(Three Days Grace)
Chad Smith
(Red Hot Chili Peppers)
...and so on.
Then there are the guys who are just in a league of their own, who I use as a source of inspiration, but who I simply aren't able to "steal" much from:
Mike Mangini
(James LaBrie, Steve Vai, Annihilator, etc)
Gavin Harrison
(Porcupine Tree, 03ric, etc)
Simon Phillips
(Toto, Gary Moore, etc)
Todd Sucherman
(Styx, Taylor Mills, etc)
And of course: The guys in Lucky Lew, Mean Genie and anyone else I've played or jammed with. As a musician, nothing inspires more than playing with others.

Well, I'm 29 years old, from Bergen in Norway, and I play drums in Lucky Lew (Web site / MySpace page / Twitter). We'll be heading in the studio to record our second album in early 2010, which should prove very exciting indeed.
Musically, I'm primarily a drummer, but I've played guitar for ten years, took piano lessons as a kid, played various horns in a few marching bands, I can find my way around a bass and I've sung backup at times.
I've also lived in Melbourne, Australia for a few years, where I (among other activities) played drums and sang backup vocals for a cover band called Mean Genie (no longer active).

No. 3
A demo recording of one of our more ballad-ish tunes (it's even got strings!). Recorded in early 2009.
Dirt
This is the "single" of sorts from Lucky Lew., recorded and mixed in the summer and autumn of 2008.
My Kitten Sleeps
The B-side from the Dirt single, recorded during the same session.
Cover Medley
A collection of cover song snippets from Mean Genie's 2006 demo recording. This was recorded at Sub Studio Melbourne, using my old Mapex M kit. Click here for a picture from the recording sessions.

Hey man, cheers! At the moment they've loaned me a Delite to record the alarum album with, Tomas Haake was the last person to play it so I might rub myself on the kick drum before we get started! I'm basically gonna work out what setup I want and see how much an SQ2 is gonna set me back, which is still gonna be a fucking ball tearer even with endorsement rates. The delite is nothing to sneeze at either! How are things on your end man?
hi! iam wolfgang the guitarist of dreamscape. we should learn to be the best persons we can be and our world will change. i try. but it's not as easy as playing guitar in a high class band...
H. Jackson Brown: Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece -- by thought, choice, courage, and determination.

"You've got to follow your passion. You've got to figure out what it is you love. who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams." O.W.

kind regards! DREAMSCAPE (progressive metal from germany) (new cd spring 2009!)
haha! Well, I'm almost serious! I had a lump on my back which I had to have removed. Nothin' serious, no need to mention the "C" word. So it wasn't alive and it didn't have an eye or weird tiny limbs but I like to think of it as my conjoined twin. Now I have a cool scar on my back, which makes me even more metal than before...check out my new track Nowonmia...see how metal I am!
