hyper.records has been in business since 1995. In the end of last year we started a dedicated metal sub-label called Nailboard Records, the first release of which "Hiiekoda" by Metsatöll sold more than 1000 copies in the first three weeks and is still selling strong.
Mind you, this happened in a country with a population of around one million, where the Greatest Hits compilation of Britney Spears has sold around 300 copies. :)
Metsatöll..s "Hiiekoda" was awarded the Estonian Music Award of 2005, our local Grammy, for the best album in the Metal/Punk category.

One of Estonia’s very first heavier bands Forgotten Sunrise, currently travelling dark-electro landscapes of increasing singularity, released two records in early 1990s, the importance of which to the development of the local extreme music scene is hard to overestimate. The dark and atmospheric demo "Behind The Abysmal Sky" (1993), together with the mini-album "Forever Sleeping Greystones" released by the Finnish Rising Realm Records in 1994, inspired scores of musicians in Estonia as well as abroad — which cannot have been hindered by Forgotten Sunrise’s boldness in experimentation with instruments uncommon in death-metal, such as synthesizer, violin, flute and the mouth harp. Nearly three years have passed since the release of “Vere kutse kohustab”, but Loits have not left their guns rusting in the ditch. On Estonian Flag Day, June 4th, the long-awaited “Must album” (“Black album”), encompassing nine songs of unheard-of brilliance. The record is not unlike a picture album left behind by the grand-grandparents, documenting not only photographs, but also all the joy expereiced, as well as the tragedy of one small nation. “Must album” does not glorify the love for the fatherland or the soldier’s valour, not the beauty of life or the pain of grief, although the latter one acts like the cord that twines the songs together. The show was recorded last year on November 11th in Rock Café. The DVD also has interviews with the band members, their opinions, thoughts and confessions about themselves and the band. And an audio-CD recording of the live show is included as well.

Hail Satan! STURMGEWEHR666 is about to finish mix and mastering process of the 2nd album "Challenging CrossReich Cowards". The end of works is scheduled for Friday next week. So soon the newest album "Challenging CrossReich Cowards" will be fully armed and ready to destroy!
