08/2009 - TOURING & STUDIO TIME
Much has happened recently, in that while Garth's back was injured we were offered a UK tour with Defeated Sanity and Blasphemer over August Bank Holiday weekend, which we really wanted to participate in and as such accepted. Garth's back didn't heal in time for us to record in July so we postponed till September 9th which we will definitely be adhering to. We've been hard at work rehearsing both a live set and going over and over the studio material, and it's fair to say that in terms of recording the final product will be better for the extra hours spent on it.
The tour takes in London, Southend, Nottingham, Manchester and Hull and will be pretty special as AJ Magana of the legendary Disgorge(US) is performing vocals for Defeated Sanity on the tour and their upcoming album, it will truly be a rare sight indeed! We'll have merchandise deals on with cheap t-shirts and CD's and will be playing a mix of old and new, so get your arses down to a shithole venue near you.
06/2009 - INEVITABLE NAILED STUDIO DELAYS
The black cloud strikes again! A few weeks ago Garth injured his back at work making it extremely painful for him to sit down, not a great state of affairs for an extreme metal drummer. As such we had to postpone recording and cancel our two gigs on the weekend of 16th/17th May for which we apologise. Originally we postponed recording till the 24th of June, but Garth has been told not to play drums until June 17th which is nowhere near enough time to get well rehearsed and on top of the material. As such we've just postponed again till sometime in late July to give us adequate time to prepare, probably July 22nd.
The album is totally finished, we have 9 songs completely done and are just finishing up vocal patterns on the last two tracks and so are pretty much just biding our time and hammering the material to click tracks as much as possible, tweaking solos and so on. This album won't be as rushed as the previous two in terms of both preproduction and recording, which is a good thing as we feel the material deserves that extra care and attention.
04/2009 - MORE ALBUM NEWS, LAST-MINUTE GIGS ANNOUNCED
So another album update, we're just finishing up the last bars of the 9th song and also finalising lyrics and vocals. Current tally stands at 8 songs finished, one on the go. Four of those songs have completed vocals, another three have lyrics, and so we're very, very close to completion of the third album. Title-wise we'll decide on that once the lyrics are all done.
On another front we've booked two final gigs before we head off to record on May 27th, and these are the 16th and 17th of May. The 16th is at the local(to our band room anyway) Old Turk in Dewsbury, and the 17th is the Manchester Metal Collective all-dayer at Jabez Clegg. Both these gigs should be a blast and we'll be unveiling one or two new songs at each, so hope to see you all down there!
03/2009 - ALBUM PRE-PRODUCTION IN PROGRESS
First update in a while, but we've been busy busy busy! We've just finished the eighth song for the new album, will probably do one more and then it's pre-production and the studio on May 27th. We're going in to MCC Studios again with Andy Giblin, this time we'll produce something truly special of that you can be assured. We haven't settled on a title yet as we're still using working titles for the songs, most of which are named after 80's action films such as Invasion USA, Marked For Death and Raw Deal. We'll be sure to keep you posted with video updates and news in the coming months!
The Causing Chaos For Cancer and other gigs of 2009 so far have been great and we've been getting great responses to our live show, even though we've been in limbo in terms of new material (our live set is over 18 months old) we still did sneak some newer stuff in and it went down a storm. Got a great review from Metal Hammer for the Terrorizer Xmas bash, it's in our pics section, and expect a Zero Tolerance review of Causing Chaos For Cancer very soon...
12/2008 - UK TOUR OVER, WRITING
Well we've just finished up the tour for "Hatred, Failure..." and we're back in the rehearsal space just before Christmas. We're holed up finishing song number 7 right now and are aiming to write another two before booking studio time. So far the material is crushingly heavy, a little faster, but also diverging into more twisted realms in terms of polyrhythms. It's definitely the best stuff we've written, more focused and cohesive as we've churned it out with one complete lineup in the space of a few months, unlike all the other material which was written through turbulent times and over long periods. We'll almost definitely do a studio recording blog thing with video updates once we're in there so keep your eyes open for that.
Most likely to be our last gig before heading off for pre-production is the Causing Chaos For Cancer show in February 2009, it's for a good cause and there's some cracing goodies to be had so make sure you're there. Have a brutal Christmas you worthless dogs!
11/2008 - HATRED, FAILURE & THE EXTINCTION OF MANKIND - OUT NOW!
Yes indeed our album is actually out in stores, you can get it from pretty much anywhere or from us direct at
http://nailed.bigcartel.com, which is our new merch page. We have shirts in there too, new ones that look killer.
Also online is a blog with a list of reviews in, please check them out. The response has been really positive, and we're embroiled in a slew of UK dates right now promoting the album. Hopefully we'll see you soon before heading back into the studio!
10/2008 - NAILED ON TERRORIZER CD, ALBUM TRACK GUIDE ONLINE
ANyone who has picked up this month's Terrorizer should have noticed we're on the Fear Candy 60 CD - the track Rupture Saviour to be precise. Pick it up if you haven't! Things are moving along swiftly, dates fo our UK tour in November are coming along and will be completed soon, and we have new merchandise on the way! I've posted a blog that goes through the album tracks to give you a rough idea of what you'll be sickened by!
08/2008 - RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED
So we have just been informed that our release date for "Hatred, Failure & The Extinction of Mankind" will be
NOVEMBER 3RD 2008. The album will be available all over the known universe (according to our contract anyway) and will also be available in Leeds. Plastic Head are the distributors so if you want our CD in your shop, tell the staff to get onto them to get the CD ordered! Expect to see us in a venue near you soon.
08/2008 - NEW SONGS ONLINE
As you are probably hearing right now, there are new songs on our player. We've added "Rupture Saviour" from the new album, and also "Without Hope There Is No Fear" from "A Pure World Is A Dead World", mainly because people have been bugging us to do it and we had an empty player slot. Might as well rape all of Myspace's bandwidth that we can.
However, the songs from the new album are all the newly remixed and remastered versions, with new vocals, new bass and Jim's solo's on there. This version is the final sale version and not the one that has been reviewed. We feel that regardless of the material, the remastered slab of "Hatred, Failure & The Extinction of Mankind" would have at least quashed any comments about a 'thin' sounding production had the critics been privy to it. We will be announcing a release date SOON!
06/2008 - UK PRESS REVIEWS
As some of you may have read in this months UK based publications of extreme musical terror, "Terrorizer"and "Zero Tolerance" magazines, we have had reviews in them both. However due to the new album being pushed back the said CD review is not of the final product that has been submitted for release.
Due to artwork alterations and a re-mix/mastering process, the album is now sounding and looking better than its previous incarnation. Although the material is intact, new solos, bass and vocals have had to be re-recorded due to studio malfunctions, slowing the process up even more.
Live shows are to be kept to a minimum for the rest of the term, as we are currently half way through writing the next album, which hopefully will be recorded by the end of the year. The material is more punishing than ever before, and we are very proud of the way things are shaping up.
05/2008 - ALBUM RELEASE PUSHED BACK TILL SEPTEMBER
As you can see we have new artwork for the album currently being finalised and we are having the album remastered at Sterling Sound in New York. We also had the chance to re-record some parts to bring it in line with Nailed in it's 2008 form, and as such Jim's solos will now appear on the CD along with re-recorded vocals and bass, as well as a tighter overall mix thanks one again to Andy Giblin. An exact date will be announced soon.
