Interests

  • General

Going to open mic events, poetry slams, writing film scripts, writing 12-bar blues songs, re-writing and then singing Christmas carols to include prostututes and crack dealers....or watching anything starring the late Great Jerry Stark, like this film co-starring Michael Jackson...
  • Music

Classical concertos, the Beatles, Modest Mouse, Led Zeppelin. Flight school instructor Joe Perroni. Actress Denise Carroll peacefully dreading getting her picture taken.
  • Movies

The Color Purple, Casablanca, The Groove Tube, Pulp Fiction, Safe Men, Night On Earth, Ghost Dog, Dead Man, Titus, Private Parts, Pep Squad, Watch Out, Gunther The Great - or (again) anything with the glorious Jerry Stark....like this one starring Jerry and Papa Smurf...enjoy
  • Television

Except for anything featuring Barack Obama last summer, I haven't turned on a TV on my own volition in 5 years. And I'm starting to think that was the biggest mistake I've ever made.
  • Books

Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey," Virgil's "Aeneid," Milton's "Paradise Lost," Whitman's "Leaves of Grass," Plutarch's "Lives," everything by Edgar Allan Poe, Quintillian's "On the training of an Orator" Joseph Suglia's "Watch Out" and "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Slam Poetry" by Marc Kelley Smith.
  • Heroes

Iron Man, Said Aouita, Paris Hilton (please hold judgement; I actually have what I consider a valid explanation), Sam Shepard, Howard Stern, Jim Jarmusch, Captain America, Coach Mac, Theseus, Jason and the Argonauts, Hector, Odysseus, Aeneas, Homer, Lycurgus of Sparta, Aristides, Nicias, Socrates, Demosthenes, Tiberius Gracchus, Sulla, Julius Caesar, Cicero, Brocaccio, Thomas Kyd, Robert Greene, Christopher Marlowe, William Shakespeare, John Milton, Marc Kelley Smith, Andrei Codrescu, Steve Balderson, Pink!, Julliette Lewis and Winona Ryder.

About me:

I'm an actor and a performance poet specializing in long epic poetry by John Milton, Walt Whitman and Allen Ginsberg. This past October I had the honor of becoming the first performer to recite Ginsberg's classic "Howl" all the way through from memory in San Francisco. This summer I'll be focusing on Book II out of Milton's Paradise Lost for the KC Fringe Fest and Whitman's "Song of Myself." I also direct comedies for my film company Kansas City Studios and work as a casting director for TV commercials.... ..............................below are teaser trailers for two of my films...the first is the opening minute of a comedy I directed called "Grandpa" starring the late-great Jerry Stark ............................................................................and below Jerry is a tribute to my beautiful buddy Betsy...she's a Kansas City performance artist who makes paintings that are big as garage doors and at her art openings she performs choreographed dances...the ghost of George Harrison appeared to me in a dream and confided in me that he didn't write "Something" for Patti Boyd but that he saw a vision of Betsy once when he was meditating with the Maharishi and Ravi Shankar. Enjoy!! .......................................................................................................

Who I'd like to meet:

Winona Ryder, MacKenzie Courtney, Jo Loizos, Pink!, Juliette Lewis, Kenneth Branagh, Rose McGowan, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Howard Stern, Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr., Gwenyth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges - (actually, the whole cast and crew of Iron Man) - - and Sam Shepard.

On June 8, 1967, a date which will live in infamy, a United States ship, the USS Liberty, was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the State of Israel. Thirty-four American sailors died and 174 were wounded. There was no retaliation, no honest investigation, and no assistance from American forces. Israel got away with cold blooded murder.

USS Liberty Dead in the Water

On September 11, 2001, planes struck the two WTC towers, and shortly thereafter both towers fell. But did you know that a third large building also collapsed on September 11 at 5:20 in the afternoon and that this building, WTC 7, wasn't even hit by a plane? What could have caused such an unusual collapse, which had all the characteristics of a controlled demolition? Again, there has been no honest investigation.

    911 Mysteries

If the Israelis got away with deliberately slaughtering innocent Americans on the USS Liberty, then what's to stop them from doing it again? What other terrorist crimes against humanity might they also have gotten away scot-free with? Click to learn more.

This film was shot the day I was born...same day as "joy to The World" was released by Three Dog Night...and Robert Plant sang his first round of vocals for "Stairway To Heaven"...pretty important day not just for my mom...if it wasn't for Karen and the mad "no way would they go outside like that" hair on the back up guys, the verses drag a little, but the message hits home pretty perfect, and the choral refrain makes it pretty worth it to watch the whole thing. Enjoy.
