Naïssam Jalal was born to Syrian parents in Paris. At age 6, she entered the conservatory to study classical flute. At the age of 18, she left the conservatory after discovering musical improvisation. This was followed by a tour in Mali with the funky brass band Tarace Boulba.

At 19, Naïssam decided to leave France and go to Syria in search of her origins. After some time studying nay (classical arabic flute) at the Great Institute of Arabic Music in Damascus, she settled in Cairo for the next three years. There she studied with the great master of violin Abdu Dagher and met Fathi Salama with whom she played regularly in the most prestigious theatres. Later she participated in the creation of the group El Dor El Awal and played a variety of musical styles with different musicians, and developed her own style between east and west.

Upon her return to France in 2006, she began her collaboration with the Lebanese rapper Rayess Bek, in France, Germany, Belgium and Marocco. In 2008, she performed with the egyptian oud player Hazem Shahine in Egypt, Lebanon, Malta, and Paris at the Arabic World Institut in 2011. In 2009, she released the album To Resistances with duo Noun Ya and toured France, Syria, Japan, Lebanon, and Tunisia.

In 2010/2011, Naïssam performed live with the top African musicians of the Parisian scene: Tony Allen, Cheik Tidiane Seck, Kiala, Brice Wassi, Hialaire Penda, Fatoumata Diawara and also Abdoulaye Traore and Mohamed Diaby with whom she recorded the album Debademba. In Lebanon, Naïssam recorded and performed with the group of Palestinian rap Katibeh 5. In 2012, she performed with great names of the international jazz scene like Hamid Drake or Nelson Veras, and of the arabic world as Lena Shamamyan, Macadi Nahhas, Youssef Hbeish... At the same time she created her own quintet and played in great theatres in Paris (New Morning, Jamel Comedy Club…).

Naïssam Jalal naît à Paris de parents syriens. À 6 ans elle entre au conservatoire pour étudier la flûte traversière classique. À 17 ans elle découvre l’improvisation et quitte le conservatoire après l'obtention du CFEM. Elle entre dans la fanfare funk Tarace Boulba avec qui elle part en tournée au Mali la même année.

À 19 ans, Naïssam décide de quitter la France et d’aller à la découverte de ses origines. Elle part en Syrie. Après avoir passé plusieurs mois à étudier le nay au grand institut de musique arabe de Damas, elle se rend au Caire pour trois ans. Là bas elle étudie avec le grand maître violoniste Abdu Dagher et rencontre Fathi Salama avec qui elle joue régulièrement dans les théatres les plus prestigieux. Elle participe à la création du groupe El dor el awal et joue avec toutes sortes de musiciens, toutes sortes de musiques et développe son style entre Est et Ouest.

De retour en France en 2006, elle commence sa collaboration avec le rappeur libanais Rayess Bek avec qui elle se produit en France, en Allemagne, en Belgique, en Espagne, au Liban ou au Maroc. En 2008, elle se produit avec le joueur de oud égyptien Hazem Shahine en Égypte, au Liban, à Malte, ou encore à Paris à l’Institut du Monde Arabe en 2011. En 2009 elle signe l’album Aux Résistances avec le duo Noun Ya, formation avec laquelle elle se produira en France, en Syrie, au Japon, au Liban ou encore en Tunisie.

En 2010, 2011, Naïssam a l’occasion de jouer en live avec la crème des musiciens africains de la scène parisienne: Tony Allen, Cheikh Tidiane Seck, Kiala, Brice Wassi, Hilaire Penda, Fatoumata Diawara ou encore Abdoulaye Traore et Mohamed Diaby avec qui elle enregistre l’album Debademba. Au Liban, Naïssam enregistre et se produit avec le groupe de rap palestinien Katibeh 5. En 2012, elle se produit avec des grands noms du jazz international comme notamment Hamid Drake ou Nelson Veras, ou du monde arabe comme Lena Shamamyan, Macadi Nahhas, Youssef Hbeish... En parallèle, elle fonde son quintet et se produit dans de grandes salles parisiennes (New Morning, Jamel Comedy Club …).

ولدت نيسم في باريز عام ١٩٨٤ من ابويين سوريين . وقد دخلت المعهد العالي الوطني للموسيقى في السادسة من عمرها لتتعلم عزف الفلوت . تخرجت من المعهد في السابعة عشر من عمرها بعد حصولها على اجازة نهاية التعليم الموسيقيى و كانت قد اكتشفت ايضا في هذا العام ذاته فن الارتجال الموسيقي . التحقت في العام ذاته بفرقة" تاراس بولبا"Boulba Tarace وهي تشكيل موسيقي كبير مختص بموسيقي "الفنك" Funk. وذهبت مع هذه الفرقة في جولة موسيقية الي المالي دامت شهراٍ.

في التاسعة عشر من عمرها قررت نيسم ان تغادر فرنسا بحثا عن اصولها . فذهبت الي سوريا حيث قضت عدة اشهر وهي تتعلم العزف علي الناي في المعهد العالي للموسيقى في دمشق . من ثم غادرت نيسم سوريا الي القاهرة حيث مكثت ثلاث سنوات. في القاهرة درست مع عازف الكمان العظيم عبدو داغر كما التقت بالفنان الموسيقي فتحي سلامة وعزفت معه بشكل متطرد في اهم المسارح. وفي القاهرة ايضا ساهمت بتأسيس فرقة " الدور الاول" وعزفت مع موسييقيين متنوعيين ومارست انواعا مختلفة من الموسيقى مما سمح لها بتكوين لحنا وموسيقي متميزة خاصة بها تحيى بين الشرق والغرب .

عام ٢٠٠٦ عادت الى فرنسا حيث بداءت العزف ومواكبة فنان الراب" رايس بيك" وقدما حفلات موسيقية عدة في المانيا بلجيكا اسبانيا لبنان والمغرب. في عام ٢٠٠٨ عزفت مع الفنان عازف العود حازم شاهين. وقد اقاموا حفلات في مالطا، ومصر، وكذلك في باريز في معهد العالم العربي عام ٢٠١١. عام ٢٠٠٩ وقعت نيسم البوم " الى المقاومات" مع الثنائى "نون ياء" NOUN YA وعزفت ضمن هذه التشكيلة في فرنسا سوريا لبنان وتونس. وفي عامي ٢٠١٠ و٢٠١١ لعبت نيسم مع ابرز الموسيقيين الافارقة المتواجدين في الساحة الباريزية : توني آلن Tony Allen شيخ تيديان سيك Cheik tidiane Sek ، كيالا Kiala ، بريس واسي Brice Wassi، هيلير باندا Hilaire Panda ، فاتوماتا دياورا Fatoumata Diawara، وايضا ابدولاي تراوري Abdoulay Traore ومحمد ديابي Mohamad Diaby. وقد سجلت مع هؤلاد الاثنين في البومهما: "ديباديمبا" Debademba.

في لبنان لعبت وسجلت مع القرقة الفلسطينية ؛كتيبة خمسة". وفي ٢٠١٢ عزفت مع كبار اسماء الجاز الامريكي وبالاخص مع حميد دريك Hamid Drake وكذلك في فرقة مايكل بليك Mickael Blake " مملكة شامبا" Kingdom of Champa بالاضافة الي ذلك اسست نيسم تشكيلتها الموسيقية : الخماسي Quintet التي لعبت في اهم الصالات الباريزية : النيومورنينغ New Morning، جامل كوميدي كلوب Jamel Comedy Club…الخ

نيسم الفرنسية سورية الاصل، مصرية الاقمة تنهل من غربتهة، من ترحالهة الدائم الى الجذور والارض، من عشقها لهويتهة، فتاتي موسيقاها بهذا الزخم المتواصل من الاحاسيس وشلال متدفق من المشاعر تنطلق مع انفاسها المضمخة بالصدق وبنفحة صوفية قوية، فتنفخ بنشوة العاشق، لتصل نوتاتها إلى اعماق المستمع، تؤثر فيه تسكره ....
تعزف نوتات تمثلها، هي نفسها، ذاتها، تصطخب أحياناٌ، تهدأ أحيانا أخري، تتنهد، تتحني لكن لا تنكسر، تعبر عما يجيش في اعماقها تصرخ بكلمات قليلة، أحياناٌ، وبألحن زخرة بتداعيات الأوضاع العامة منها، والخاصة، تحثنا على المتابعة، دون رمشة أو همسة حتى لا نضيع نوتة بعينها، مع سحر الاحساس المفعم بلشعن، في اداء النوتة الشرقية على آلة غربية، تتحايل عليها كي تنطق بما تريد هي، نيسم، لا بما تريد الآلة
