A man without dreams is a man without goals. A quote that aptly describes rapper/producer Naj-Meen's (pronounced "na mean") dillagence thus far in the music industry. His quest to make that defining mark in music began while home on summer break. Naj-Meen would often watch music videos to keep up with the current trends in the U.S.A, as he was living in Germany at the time. His lifelong passion was sparked by the video "Papparazzi", a song by Xzibit which featured an orchestra and lyrics challenging the creativity of rap music. The combination of classical music and hip hop, which were his favorite genres at the time, was something unheard of to Naj-Meen. It inspired him to expirement and fuse music he liked as well, and he soon began creating his own instrumentals. Having no access or knowledge with musical equipment, Naj-Meen would use his Super Nintendo as a production platform. By recording music from videogames using a cassette radio while simultaneously beat boxing into the speakers, he was able to make his own beats. His knowledge would soon evolve after getting a keyboard and taking a computer music class in highschool. With beats in tack, all that was lacking was a lyricist or vocalist to hop on them. Being somewhat of an introvert, Naj-Meen relied on himself to be the voice over his instrumentation. He soon began to break out of his shell, stirring up many ciphers in the school yard. Now much older, wiser, and more talented than ever, Naj-Meen is taking his passion to new heights. He recently received a bachelor's degree in Audio Recording. He is also a co-founder of Chan Cezar Entertainment, a team of entrepreneurs excelling in various talents. With this team, he has released a mixtape entitled "The Hit Conglomerate", which garnered rave reviews in local newspapers. He has also performed his songs in many venues in the Houston area, opening for acts such as Planet Asia and the legendary Kool Herc. Naj-Meen also produces for many local artists in the Houston area out of Archive Studios, which he co-owns. His versatile production earned him 1st place at the "Houston Beat Battle" preliminaries and runner up in the 2007 finals. Naj-Meen now runs the Houston Beat Battle annual tournament, giving other local producers an opportunity to showcase their talents. His latest achievements are winning Urban Zone talent competition and having his single "Big Shot" played on the 93.3 radio program "Street Heat". Naj-Meen is currently working on his own mixtape series due out in the summer, and his highly anticipated debut album in the winter. Naj-Meen is widely known for his creativity, vivid story telling, clever metaphors, and humorous backdrops in his songs. He always had the passion, is well aware of the goal, and determined more than ever to achieve them. His presence will be felt. Naj-Meen?
