OCEAN
I spent many years teaching color guard with marching bands and drum and bugle corps, so am a seasonal fan of all that stuff too.
Music
I like all different types of music (mostly - don't do country, am not red-state enough, and only a fan of occasional rap) and can't live without my iPod. Depending on my mood, I can be into jazz, pop, classical, and you name it.
Movies
Currently Dreamgirls. I was stunned by how good it was, actually. I must say that "Edward Scissorhands" remains one of my all-time favorites. What a cool statement about society told in such a creative way.
Television
I watch very little, as it seems I'm usually doing something, but do try to end my day with The Daily Show. It is a badly needed dose of hilarious intelligence before I go to bed! Oh, and of course Project Runway on Bravo...they do some cool stuff.
Books
Anything by Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris. Really do enjoy the rich world created in the Harry Potter series..what wonderfully imaginiative imagery and often great life messages. I tend to listen to audiobooks more than actually read these days (that darn iPod again), since it saves my eyes which are taxed a lot as it is.
Heroes
Rob Erdle - an amazing artist who recently passed away after beating unbelievable cancer for several years.. A shining example of what a great attitude and confidence about life can do.
Anyone who can look at himself and see where changes need to be made and then not back away from it can be my hero. A hard thing to do and some can never achieve it.

I keep busy working on many different creative projects and love to meet challenges and explore new avenues of expression. My living is mostly made by being a graphic designer, and I own my own business where I create all manner of communication design, ranging from logos, brochures, and packaging to full-on national marketing campaigns.
In college, I got to study with a truly remarkable and groundbreaking watercolor artist, who continued to be a good friend until his death, and through his inspiration I love to paint. Have been doing collaborations with the Voci modern dance company as their Resident Visual Artist and it is a great match. Our works seems to inspire each other and it is leading in some cool directions. In addition to Voci, I have had six shows in the past year.
I am a performer in the Lab Rats Improv Troupe at SAK Comedy Lab in downtown Orlando. Probably more fun than performing improv is watching the journey it takes you through, as the training to quit blocking yourself and act on your instincts can really lead to some big transformations in everyday life.
When not involved in all this creation stuff, I like to be outside, spend time with plants and animals, workout and travel when I can..especially to NYC, where I would like to move. Not sure when it will work out, but the creative energy I experience every time I visit is always like a beacon to me.
Oh and I have FIVE cats. They flock to me like the Pied Piper or something. A psychic told me it has something to do with past lives in Egypt. Whatever the reason is, Petsmart always loves to see me coming.
I own a house built in 1930 and its great...I am NOT, however, Bob Vila, and fussing with the house is not something I do a lot of..rather be painting or having fun!
Who I'd like to meet:
Interesting people who don't take themselves or much else very seriously. People who can be ridiculous and off-the-wall and also have deep discsussions about life or current affairs are my favorite.
