Often found sneaking into the bar with her guitar at age twelve, Julia has been a working musician in her community for so long, locals would peg her as ten years older than she actually is. She has played with numerous bands ranging punk, jazz, rock, classical, reggae in venues across the world. Once known as the singer of The Waz, and that girl who sang with Ari-Up of The Slits. She has opened for the likes of The Wailers, Toots and the Maytals, Fishbone , Meredith Monk, Nina Hagen, Eric Andersen, Pete Seeger, the Damned, and many others on the stages of The Chance, Webster Hall, Wetlands, Brownies, Don Hills, The Morecambe Arena (UK), The Knitting Factory, CBGB's, Sidewalk Café, UPAC, A day in the Garden , Valentines Music Hall (Albany) Milestones (Rochester) Bearsville Theatre, the now historical Joyous Lake and Tinker Street Café. The list goes on........ ...
Drummer Johnny Watson has always secretly wanted to be Naked. He now drives Naked with his powerful yet delicate sense of dynamics and acute skill.
Watson studied jazz at SUNY New Paltz, but not enough to hurt him. Interestingly, one of the few drummers without a typical drummer attitude, soon found himself in every rock venue with leaky toilets on the east coast; the Knitting Factory, Lit Lounge, CBGB's. The Continental, Arlene's Grocery, Otto's Shrunken Head, PussyCat Lounge, The Bitter End, Kenny's Castaway's, Brownies, Baggot Inn, Trash Bar … he also plays with Fantom Frequency, Sarah Perrotta Band, and Joe Lee King, but likes being Naked the best.
He’s not stupid.
Kevin began playing music at the age of 4, often found banging away on the family piano. For his 13th birthday he was handed his first guitar which he never put down and has played all over the country this side of the Mississippi. Whether it's been dive bars in Florida, keg parties in Athens, OH, or in the back of a U-Haul somewhere no where near civilization, songs and sounds with different beats has been his tune.
Now with Naked, Past is exploring the world of the Electric Bass, and the concepts of pockets and grooves which go along with it. Listen to his songs, he's Sonnyboy Brindle.
"Everyday I learn something new about the world of music with this band. I'm excited to play, and see us all evolve beyond what we think is possible. Our potential is limitless. I love it!!" ~Kevin Past
Garrett (aka Skinny Bones) a veteran of the NY punk scene, has fronted Bands that have opened for The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits, Patti Smith, Bad Religion, Sick of it All, Biohazard, The Lemonheads, Fishbone and Cypress Hill. You also hear Garrett in his current band Lazy Suns.
Naked was born in Woodstock NY, revolving around the songs, spirit, vision and voice of singer/songwriter Julia Nichols. Difficult to to categorize, Naked provides an ambient, genre defying mix of magical elements that touch upon, soul, jazz, blues and pop with a bohemian air. Known for their vocal arrangements & harmonies, driven by an intricate tapestry of rhythm, Naked is described by many as a wall of sound. Singer Rachel Marco-Havens, describes Julia's melodic style as written almost in counter melody. In the grand tradition of Papa Funk, Julia and the core members of Naked are something like the roots of a tree, with branches comprised of the revolving members. Naked looks to share the harvest of a new album after a creative winter in the catskills.
Music beyond description .. let yer' earholes decide.
The songs you hear on this page were recorded with previous incarnations of Naked.

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
