Irreverent, esoteric, pseudo-intellectual, songwriter / composer / artist / filmmaker. I have an MFA in film directing and have made several ambitious shorts, and have been playing, recording or writing music most of my life -- but it's mostly been non-commercial so far (intentionally or no), so I have a "day" job running a little technology news company, Line56.
I can be a little hyper-sensitive about feeling like people don't take me seriously when they find out I have so many creative activities/interests... And truth be told, sometimes I don't think I take myself very seriously, but yes, I really did graduate from college with three majors and a minor, I'm not BS-ing!
Blame my mom for sitting me in my room by myself to entertain myself all day when I was a kid. First I'd just count my toes (literally... She'd say "Now Johnny, how many toes do you have?" I'd take off my shoes, and I'd count them. It'd take me a while. I'd tell her my answer. She'd say "are you sure?" I'd count them again. Repeat.) I also had this awesome noah's arc toy I'd play with for hours... Then I started making things from lego, lincoln logs and tinker toys, then circuses out of yarn and masking tape, then I slowly got into more artistic fields... Piano, D&D, computer games and programming, violin, guitar, songwriting, writing, theater, studio art, bass, drums, mandolin, and finally film. And I still have ten toes! I think... Let me check again...
