The two MCs that make up [name pending] are iLLuminati and Rapsody. As well as acting as one of the MCs Rapsody also produces a lot for the group under the name DJ Rumsfeld.
Influences
Both members of [name pending] are huge hip-hop fans with a wide range of artists falling into their influences. The duos main influences are Project Blowed (in particular Aceyalone, Mikah 9, Abstract Rude, 2Mex & Pigeon John) and the Wu-Tang Clan. They are also fond of the majority of artists from the Def Jux, Rhyme Sayers and Stones Throw camps. Rather than restricting themselves to the radio friendly mainstream jams the pair both hold a big interest in the Underground scene and the Golden Age of Hip-Hop.
[name pending] started out when Rapsody's original group Lyrics De Facto split in early 2007. After searching for a while Rapsody found iLLuminati and began to teach him more about the art of MCin along with Vocab. Discovering that there was great chemistry between the two they set out to form a group that went on to become [name pending]. The duo hope to have their full length album The Gateway Drug ready to drop Late 2009. The bulk of the album's production will be handled by Rapsody, producing under the name DJ Rumsfeld. The album will also feature production from Raskill Records artist Sion De Freitas. It will also feature guest verses from Sion, Vocab and Tom Chambers.
