Formed in 2006, when Richie Aquino left his previous band to take a chance on a completely new musical direction. He teamed up with longtime friend, Michelle Ashley, to try and use conventional instruments in an unconventional way.
Richie (vocals, guitar) has been playing in the Southern California music scene for over twelve years.
“It never gets old.”
Heavily influenced by English rock bands from all eras. Inspired by love, hate, beginnings and ends, and the unknown future.
Michelle (vocals, keyboards, synth bass) has written about music for years as an aspiring music journalist, so it only came natural for her to join Richie on the other side of the microphone. Influences such as Fleetwood Mac and Blondie have led to the same musical affinity as Richie for strong melody and rock harmonies.
Names in Vain has inspired both members to always move forward.
