Nanaimo bars combines powerful female vocals from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, with tight commonplay by bass and drums by two guys from Tampere, Finland, and screaming guitar work by a Finnish guitarist living in Istanbul, Turkey.
The band's history dates back to the end of 1990s when two lazy PhD students (Leila & Aki), an offset worker (Timo) and a university lecturer (TT) joined their forces in Tampere, Finland, to create hard rock music, combined with different music styles. After a 6,5 years hiatus, the band is together again and currently recording new songs.
