People who have left a permanent mark on my musical soul: Kurt Elling for his ability to inspire, elevate and astound; Louis Armstrong for sharing something other-worldly with us; Miles Davis for that glorious mystery; Billie Holiday for her honesty, Rene Clausen for his love of sculpting words; Lauryn Hill for a voice that speaks volumes; my friend, Siri Myhrom, for her poetic view of life; people who embrace who they are; people who celebrate others' victories; and people who live creatively.

"...a quiet confidence, an innate sense of swing and languorously seductive phrasing. On this debut, she does standards, a John Mayer tune and a couple of originals. Quite impressive." –Jon Bream, MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE
"Few debut recordings have as much depth and personal revelation as In the Indigo. Nancy Harms can swing with the best of them but her heart, her voice, her soul go far beyond the Great American songbook in both interpretation of standards and mining new material. One of the year’s best local recordings." -Andrea Canter, Jazz Police
"Sultry, moody, anything but fragile, Ms. Harms creates a presence that is substantial – in control, and in my mind, it’s what separates her..." -Doug Boynton, girlsingers.org
"(In the Indigo) is as fine a piece of production and as wonderful a piece of singing as I've heard in years and years and years." -Don Shelby, WCCO 830 AM
“The essentials, superb time and a uniquely lovely voice, are richly in evidence, along with excellent phrasing, a keen sense of drama, and the ability to draw from a variety of influences while still creating something totally her own.”
–Arne Fogel, vocalist, broadcaster
"...she turns that jolly-good jaunt "Bye Bye Blackbird" into a dark, oddly haunting, strangely seductive ballad. The title cut, on the other hand, is a breezy, upbeat affair that practically grins at you with whimsical beauty." -Dwight Hobbes, TC Daily Planet
Nancy Harms vocally paints standards such as “Bye Bye Blackbird,” draws a contemporary picture with John Mayer’s “Great Indoors,” and beautifully colors her composition “In The Indigo” with lovely hues from her own distinctive palette. -Maryann Sullivan, Corner Jazz (KBEM-FM)
She shapes words as if they taste delicious. Her swing is innate and roomy. Somehow she combines sultry with cool. Each song is a confidence whispered in your ear, intimate and alluring. The first time you hear this voice, you’ll wonder, “Who’s that?” The next time, you’ll think, “Ahhh…Nancy Harms.” That’s how exceptional she is, and how memorable.

Hiya Nancy! Thanks for the nice comment! I gig regularly in London now-more on the "Acoustic" scene than the Jazz one.I have developed a good reputation as one of the U.K.'s finest acoustic guitarists! In 2007 I played at the London Guitar Festival on the Southbank! I love Jazz and some years back I studied advanced Jazz guitar in Bath with Leni Stern-that's playing electric-she said my lead style was very similar to Larry Carlton's!I am now incorporating more "lead" playing in my live sets-aswell as using effects and playing percussion at the same time!Multi-tasking! God Bless, Tim.
It was wonderful to meet you as well! Love what you do. You deserve the very best this world of music has to offer-just BEAUTIFUL. I'll definitely be making it out to one of your shows soon!
Beautiful music you're making here Nancy. Glad to have found you via Davina's facebook:) Hope to catch a live show sometime soon. We're just wrapping up studio work for our first record. I liken the experience to a cross between childbirth and laying sod. Emotional, physically taxing, and oh so satisfying. Peace Patti Ryan Inukshuk Pass
