Bio
...... “Nancy is one of the most promising songwriters coming onto the scene right now. I expect to see big things from her as more people begin to see her live and listen to The One to Shine.” David Wannop (Promoter, Tin Angel) .... Supported by the acclaimed release of her debut record, "The One To Shine", Nancy Micciulla is busily in demand, currently touring the U.S. Eastern seaboard..... Micciulla (pronounced mi-chu-la: There’s a prize if you got it right, extra points for correctly spelling it.) hails from Philadelphia and has packed renowned venues such as the Tin Angel, Club Café and The Knitting Factory. At World Café Live, Nancy was chosen as a ‘standout performer,’ and Ticket Magazine named her as ‘2010 Artist to Watch’. Her sound has been described as “acoustic pop with an emotional flair”; her melodic voice like “candy for your ears”. .... But the real treat is how this singer/songwriter toils for her original material. Ms. Micciulla can drop a mean, sing-along cover to get any crowd grooving, but it is her own deft lyrics that put her heart on display. Nancy’s experience with songwriting has crafted a control over her words that pulls us out of a self-imposed karaoke-hell. .... “My songwriting has definitely evolved over the years,” Micciulla says. “When I began writing, my lyrics were vague, cryptic, and sometimes so personal that they didn't make sense to anyone, including me. The songs were always honest, but it's difficult to be prolific when I'm trying too hard to be poetic. Now, I write more simply. I'm straightforward, often blunt, and even my most poetic lines make perfect sense.” .... Armed with just a single guitar and trusty vocal cords, Nancy will bring a room to a standstill. Backed by her band, she unleashes a poetic, warrior spirit, finishing the house roaring with applause. .... Nancy looks forward to expanding her tour soon and has been engaged writing new singles. One, entitled “No More” (streaming now on www.nancymicciulla.com), she describes as, “a cute little ditty, barely two minutes long, about moving on after heartache. People love it. A few have taken it on as their personal mantra.” .... If fans can believe in one thing, Nancy Micciulla has just begun to share this musical ride with us, a journey with beauty that dares us not follow. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .................... .... .. .. .. .. .. .................... -
