I dislike Ayn Rand, so I don't really want to write an essay about her book. I don't think "The Ayn Rand Institute" is going to like an essay that's critical of Rand, plus its a lot of work to write an essay that good, so I think I'll opt out of that :/ I need some more time to mull over Ayn Rand before I decide
I've already applied for like 5 scholarships (little $1000 ones), but I'm gonna apply for more.
I'm actually planning on reading the God Delusion. I respect Dawkins' work in biology, so I'll read it with an open mind. I'll write a response to that when I'm done.
Look's like you've got a pretty eclectic schedule, that's great. Though dentistry isn't very appealing to me, personally. I can't stand going to the dentist
don't worry about eavesdropping, its cool, I do it all the time
I'm glad at least somebody reads my blog posts :p
I have indeed heard of bioshock, though I have yet to play it. I think it'd fry my computer if I tried to run it ;_;
I wouldn't mind Ayn Rand so much if she weren't so shrill about everything. Between her characters' 60 page sermons and her labeling anyone who disagrees with her as "anti-life", she never manages to be remotely subtle or even-handed.
That said, I actually enjoyed Atlas Shrugged somewhat. The plot was well thought out, at least, if you looked past the fact that every character was a walking, talking straw (wo)man.
This summer... next week I'm going to a camp for viola players, in July I'm going to youth symphony camp, I'm gonna try to run cross country a lot of the summer, I'm going to try to study Spanish (to get ready for AP), I'm going to hunt for scholarships, and I'm going to try to figure out what colleges I want to attend and start my applications. Plus I might try to get a temporary job or do some community service. SO I'm gonna stay busy.
ahh, you're going to UW next year?? excited.. we can hang out again... you're taking classes this summer?? you over-achiever!! wow.. going to Korea.. that's exciting.. you totally should go.. ^^
For me, it's summer for me now.. graduation was on Friday (and I know, Friday the 13th.. ><).. yeah, and this summer, i'm not sure yet..I'm trying to look for a job..
Ugh, sorry about last night. My computer just crashed on me, but I'm sure I'll catch you on AIM again.
Anywho, out for the summer. Got a job, Customer Service...working there probably about 2 months then it's back to NC for more schooling to become a high school teacher.
