Berlin - the city of angels!!
Me and my band won the preliminary rounds AND the final of the Live Singer-Songwriter-Contest ‘Troubadour – Modern Minstrels’ in Berlin 13th of June this year www.troubadour.de.com. The Berliners has opened up their hearts to my little danish semi-acoustic band playing pop/alternative/folk/singer-songwriter-music with a Nordic/Americana tone. Huge gratitude to my freind, the talented singersongwriter Mckinley Black for offering me this opportunity!!
The Final was held, at a sold out concert-hall “WABE” www.wabe-berlin.de and my band also performed live and gave an interview in Berlin TV (FAB).
In January 2009 we will play some gigs in California, and prior to that, Im co-writing in the Big Sur, at the Listening Room International Songwriter Retreats hosted by Brett Perkins, - one of the prices for winning the Troubadour - can't believe my luck!!!
Im currently writing a lot of new material, looking for new partners to make my second album, and in January 2008 I was in London playing gigs and co-writing with the songwriter Adam Argyle, who has written half the songs on Melanie C’s new album and some of the earlier hit singles like “Next Best Superstar”.
Gaffa: **** (leading music magazine in DK)
Alt for Damerne: **** (leading womens magasin in DK)
I wrote the title song ’Moonchild’ in co-operation with the hit maker John O’Kane from Scotland, who has delivered songs to Tina turner a.o. The song is presently played on national radio stations in DK. I write and sing deeply personal songs in English; Gaffa wrote: ”She sings with her heart in her hands…”
I performed solo as "Nanna Larsen" for the first time in the Danish Eurovision Contest 2004, where I sang my own song ”kiss me one more time” also appearing on the new album. Some in Denmark might remember when I entered the no. 1 radio station (DR P3) in 2001 with my band Sofa, as we got a record deal at BMG and released our first single ”Hey Girl”. The band released several singles before we split up in 2004.
Moonchild – an adult child of an alcoholic
Some of the songs on the record describe how it feels, to grow up in the shadow of an alcoholic parent. It is believed that more than 200.000 children today in DK alone share that destiny.
