A collage (From the French: coller, to glue) is a work of art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
We want to create a community collage with all images people add to it. You are asked to choose any image, in any size, and place it anywhere you want in the nano_COLLAGE.
The nano_COLLAGE idea is to build an art work that you'll never be able to apprehend in it's totality. When viewing it you are always limited by your screen size and you can only have a fragmented perception of the entire collage.
This piece, beyond the drawing, is primarily the trace of a 20 hours performance of endurance. Because of the low quality jpeg used here, you can't see the word "endurance" wrote over and over (I estimated to 3500 the total number of "endurance" wrote).
They really are there but each line is 1mm high so on low definition it's unreadable even if zooming...
This is a morphing of all past 56 Miss World - from the first one in 1951 to the last one in 2006 - accompained by a lecture of Plato's Greater Hippias where it says that "beauty is a beautiful virgin".
Working on this video, we realized that all Miss World look almost the same, they all have this same look and smile... Then what came to our mind is that the image of the Miss World isn't important at all, what matters is the idea of Miss World. but what does it represent?.
