About nanomachine

2000年、ヤエシンタロウ、サトウトオルによってnano machineを結成。個々に築いてきたキャリア、概念をゼロに戻し制作した2001年のデモ音源「everything,object and element」がCDリリース前から話題となる。2003年2月、1st mini album 『YCX＋3』をCATUNEよりリリース。この頃からサポートメンバー（ストリングス、ホーンセクションなど）含め8人〜10人編成の変則的な形態での重厚なオーケストレーションによる、圧倒的ライブパフォーマンスが評価される。レコーディングからマスタリングまで自らをコントロールする傍ら、他アーティストとのコラボレーション、リミキサーとしても活動。（toe-remixアルバム、54-71/n.d.w sp「we don't america」、From Monument To Masses[DimMak Records U.S]remix アルバムなど。）また、映像作品への楽曲提供や、短編映画集『Short Films』、中野裕之監督作品『アイロン』のサウンドトラックにサトウが参加するなど、個々の活動も活発になる。　そして2005年6月、多岐にわたる活動の集大成とも言える1st album『GEMINI』リリース。全8曲プログレッシヴ・ロック、ルーツテクノ、などに見られる世界観、エレクトロニカ、テクノミュージック以降の繊細かつ綿密な独自のサウンドは、ポスト・ロックというカテゴリを遥かに凌駕。ライブパフォーマンスも完成度を増したこの頃、アベトモカツがdrumsとして正式加入。現在のメンバー構成となる。『gemini』発表以降、ライブツアー、オムニバスアルバム参加など精力的に活動してきたが、2008年2月、原点を見つめなおす為、制作以外の活動を封印。“ゼロから音楽をクリエイトする”ことに対するこだわりや方法論の確認、活動体制の整備を、新たにnano machine group という名の元、新作の完成にまもなく至る。
