* 2007 SOS album “Images” aligns the emotive singer with Grammy winners Carlos Santana, Narada Michael Walden and Mario Winans.
* Raised in tiny Malagash, Nova Scotia, her religious parents shunned the business and raised their daughter under strict religious rule. Striemer knew nothing of radio or TV until she was 10.
* Was courted by Christian label Sparrow Records and youth-pop powerhouse Transcontinental, but held out for an audition with Epic Records at age 18. Signed on the spot—then debut album imploded when her allies were fired, two weeks before release.
* Striemer followed with a self-made album, saying, “Pain is good because it forces you to explore what’s inside. A lot of my voice didn’t come out until the anger of the Sony situation. I began to write for me, therapeutically” and sang “out of hurt instead of trying to be technically perfect.”
* Santana, who contributed to song “Cars,” says about recording with Striemer: “It was like giving birth to new light. Like many great artists and great songs, Naomi inspires in people the force of compassion and hope.”
* “Images” producer Walden describes her musical imprint: “If anything, her sound is more alternative or gothic rock with the power of a Celine Dion.”
*Naomi had the 1 Album (downloads) in Canada in 2006 and again in 2007 in Canada with ‘Images’
*Billboard Magazine hailed Striemer the “Commanding diva of the decade.. Remember the first time you heard Whitney, Celine or Mariah..”
*Independently writes and records an 11 song masterpiece titled ‘The Green Album’ in Canada. Ends up with singles from this album on hundreds of radio stations and thousands of spins in crossing markets across the country.
*Writes the theme song, and becomes the embassador for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto (the 3rd largest Children’s Hospital in the world). Goes to Honduras on Mission Trip and helps with medical teams. Starts speaking at colleges and youth camps across North America to help inspire youth to stand for what they believe and go for their dreams.
