Narcissus Project is Matthew Smith's latest project incorporating influences from various genres into his own distinct style of psytrance or psychedelic trance. In an effort to expand my palette I wanted to explore other genres and avenues and bring my own tastes and style to a different light.
Narcissus was the mythical greek youth who, after seeing his own reflection in a pond, pined away in love for himself until he died and was transformed into the Narcissus flower.
While most people see this as the sad fate of self absorption or egotism, it can also be looked at as a model in which we all long to truly know, love and understand ourselves. For me music is my medium for this, thusly Narcissus Project. Oh, yeah. And
