David Goffin's rock trio, playing stripped versions of his best songs from former bands The Altered State, Guinea Pig, Lady X and Tomato, as well as new songs.
David started his first band in the middle 80's with his long time friend Erwin 'red baron' Von Vox. He won famous local VerdurRock contest twice in those years (Altered State/Guinea Pig) with some help of local Hero drummer Philippe Depireux. Guinea Pig became a Polygram signed artist in 86 but didn't meet the expected success in the record sales ;-)
Lady X saw the return of Erwin in a more down-to-earth garage band for the 90's. They recorded album 'Home Recording' on a 4-track tape recorder in 24h and went on to sell quite a lot of them at concerts!
Around 95 David devided to go his own way and recorded a solo album which has been distributed by local label Big Bang. Reviews were very good, some tracks got some airing through hyper-hyped Belgian Radio guru Rudy Léonet. Unfortunatly David was again unable to keep his band going. Philippe Depireux then reappeared and they founded 'Tomato' with bass player Jacky Marshal. The trio recorded an album at David's own studio and played in local clubs and festivals for a couple of years.
Alas, with David's couple falling apart the band couldn't receive the attention it diserved and once again it was back to case one... Then life took a nasty turn for David... Only separated for a few months he lost his wife in a car crash, which put a stop to the music activity for quite a while.
He was only to return to music in 05, forming 'My Sister's Birthday' with (very long legged) cousin Eve Bouvy and all time drummer-extaordinaire Denis Vellande. An album has been released but still David hadn't resumed singing. Finally, under Denis' preassure, David agreed to have a go at a small trio set. The two were joined by bassist Damian Triquet and played a 40 min gig at MSB's manager Sylvie Colin's birthday. The audiance's response was exellent. No way David could continue hiding behind excuses then...
