NATACHA FLORA SONLOUE aka « NASH »,
25 years old, is born in DUEKOUE and has grown up in MAN (IVORY COAST). NASH discovered hip-hop culture in 1996 at high school. Her motivation is really born after she saw the first ivorian female rapper PRISS’K on national TV RTI. She began writing lyrics and singing and formed in 1997 her first band with school friends of the MAN region.
In 1998, NASH leaves MÂN for the district of YOPOUGON (Abidjan). Since 1999, she performed in many sound systems across Abidjan. There was one sponsored by the Ivorian rap leader BONI (R.A.S) and the French rap star JOEY STARR (N.T.M) where her performance in nouchi (Ivorian French slang) was really appreciated by both rappers who decided to invite NASH on the compilation « ENJAILLEMENT » that BONI produced on his label NOUCHY PROD. This compilation pushed NASH on the frontline with the hit « 1ère Djandjou » that was selected for the promo campaign. The large african audience discovered this hit by the way of the video that was played on many TV channels. The song based on famous « 1er Gaou » by MAGIC SYSTEM is like a female and nouchi version that defends women emancipation. With the success of « 1ère Djandjou », NASH performed in several african cities (Lomé, Cotonou, Ouagadougou) and also performed in first part of a huge live concert of MAGIC SYSTEM in Abidjan.
In 2005, she gathers some well-known Ivorian rappers and toasters who formed the band GBONHI YOYOYO (hip-hop family in nouchi) produced by the label NOUCHY ARTS to bring some fun and some hope to her suffering country, Ivory Coast. The album released in 2006 and called « Ya Koi Même ? » (What happens ?) got a huge success and the band travelled to Switzerland for one month tour in October 2006.
NASH recently made a small nouchi interlude on French rapper MOKOBE's last album called « Mon Afrique ». She has just released in december 2008 her first solo album called « Ziés Dédjas » (open eyes).
