    My collection of CDs, DVDs, and comic books has grown to the point of utter absurdity (see below for a small selection). Every once in a while I actually read/watch/listen to some part of my vast array of media. I have been known to DJ at WRVU 91.1 FM Nashville, so I'm currently trying to give myself a crash course in the current indie canon. I'm currently on hiatus from the radio station, so to fill the hobby gap I've started brewing beer. I you ask, I just might have something from one of my first batches yuo might like--right now, I've got bottles of my Holiday Brew (a light amber ale) and my Resolution Porter (an old-timey version with mollasses and a hint of cinnamon) and I'm about to work up my next concoction...

    In terms of directors: Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorcese, Steven Soderbergh, The Coen Brothers, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, Orson Welles, Bryan Singer, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, Doug Liman, Chris Nolan, Sam Raimi, Francis Ford Coppola before 1980, occasionally Steven Spielberg (He hits his mark .. Encounters and the first and third Indy movies, but his other movies can be a little problematic.) Favorite movies not by the above directors: LA Confidential, Gandhi, Chariots of Fire, Night of the Hunter, Three Kings, Charade, The Fugitive, Ghost World, Maltese Falcon, Lost in Translation, Shadow of the Vampire, Chinatown, and any classic film noir I can get my hands on.

    I now do have ongoing access to a television, and must strive to combat its near-irresistible draw...everything just looks so shiny in HD!

  • Books

    Continuing my recent Cold War kick, I've been reading the James Bond novels in order. I'm probably due for something a little more highbrow soon, maybe the biography of Alexander Hamilton that's been parked on my bar for the last few months looking classy next to the decanter of scotch...
