I just left Chincoteague, and am now on Ocracoke Island fishing and crabbing, basking in the sun, and flouncing on the beach....################################################################################
When my brain isn't being challenged intellectually, that is, when I can finally unwind, I like going on long canoe trips, swimming in the ocean and making things out of clay. I love caves, sea oats, fireflies, netting crabs, digging for clams, hacking away at oysters and catching fish. I will also pick any berry I see (blackberry, blueberry, raspberry hahaha). Places I have been: Baffin Island, Alaska, Yukon, Greenland, Bonaire, France, Spain, Assateague and Chincoteague Islands (to watch the pony swim with my kids!), Ocracoke island, Florida Keys....I love love love to explore and particularly love very remote, isolated places. This summer I went canyoning in Spain, paragliding in France, I swam in the ocean near Biarritz, ate lots of tapas and had sooooooo much fun! This winter I went to the Florida Keys, I hacked down lots of coconuts, caught a few fish (lost tons of bait in the process, very clever fish in the keys!), saw a giant lizard scurry across a road, got my toe stabbed by a sea urchin, went snorkeling (saw several barracuda, parrot fish and others, AND a large shark, had lots of points (pointy fins etc), I am sure it was the biting kind...) and swam in the incredible crystal clear back waters of Bahia Honda Key. I also went to Washington D.C. and saw dinosaur bones, a mummified ox and lo and behold, the hope diamond, but I don't think its the one from the Titanic movie (looks like it though). Next winter I will go to Dry Tortugas National Park, the keys are AMAZING.....===
Last year my brittle starfish ate my peppermint shrimp.... hopefully this will be a better year...*********************************************************************
