Hi.

My name is harper. I am an incredible person. I make web applications and hang out a lot. I stay up late a lot and I rule pretty hard. Some of my interests are yoyoing, juggling, computers, internet, chatting with 19 year old girls on the internet, punching myself in the face and programming irc bots. I listen to a lot of music and read an inordinate number of books. I love reading and do it a lot.

Fun Stuff.

I go out a lot. There is a pretty good chance that if you have been out these last four years - you have seen me. You should say hi. I love meeting club people and hanging out sipping drinks. Some of my best friends are from this part of my life.

I am really into yoyoing and juggling. Its a lot of fun and ultra nerdy. But I rule - so its all good. I am a yoyo pro and am part of a juggling troop in chicago.

I like hanging out and meeting crazy people. I only hang out with cool people - so if you are cool - hit me up.

Technology.

I am a software engineer for a small awesome company called skinnyCorp. We make communities on the internet. We also rule pretty hard. Check our shit out..

I spend a lot of time hacking shit so that it works better in my favor. I enjoy manipulating technology to do what it should do. I have 2 UK numbers and 1 tokyo number that rings my mobile phone. I decided i wanted a digital picture frame - so I made one. I hacked my tivo to extract the video to my psp, ipod or dvds. I recently programmed and soldered up a POV toy. I get bored a lot.

I also enjoy writing software for the internet and communities. Some of my personal favorites are: flashandburn.net, fukung.net, watership.org nata2.info, musicblogger.org, howtoyoyo.com, jokesareawesome.com and audreyhacking.com. I have received weird accolades and such for my sites and was the recipient of an honorary mention for the 2001 prix ars electronica. It worked out well.

I am currently writing software in PHP. I do most of my coding in VI and really don't enjoy windows IDEs. I enjoy contributing to open-source and would like to contribute more. So.. if you have an idea and want to rock it - hit me up

Music and books.

I listen to a lot of music and really enjoy hard edged, nice, pretty music. Most of the music I listen to was shown to me by a friend or someone who I trust in regards to music. I am always into new music and would love to hear something good if you got it. Here is some of my current favorites:

Like I said above - I like to read a lot. Recently I have been reading a lot of scifi and fantasy. I accidently read an entire series of dragon books that my best friend matiss lent me. hilarious. It was an accident, but it ruled so much I couldn't stop. I ended up buying the series for my brother and he agrees. rule. Bio.

I was born in colorado to amazing parents. I had a great time growing up with my little brother. My family is insane which was awesome. I was prom king and student council president. I ruled high school. Then I went to college at Cornell College in Iowa. It was kind of like a mens store in a small town calling itself Gucci. It wasn't a bad school by any means - but wasn't a tech school either. I used my time there to really rock out some philosophy and history. I studied history of science and history of catholicism. It was amazing.

By the time I graduated I was working for a small consulting firm in Cedar Rapids and wanted to move to Chicago. So I did.

In Chicago I decided to go to a bunch of shows and go out a lot. I had a bunch of websites that helped pay the bills so it was easy to go out all the time and rock. Around this time I also got a job making web applications and helping manage an offshore programming team for World Book Publishing. After being there for awhile I decided I needed a change. So I moved jobs and started working for an advertising agency. It was fun, insane and really stupid. I am not a fan of advertising. After that I got a job with skinnyCorp.

In mid 2006 I got married to my friend Hiromi. We had our initial wedding in Tokyo, JP and will have many more.

So there you have it. I am awesome.
