He heard she had been promised in marriage. Still, the vision of her beauty filled his heart and his thoughts were constantly with her. Then one day he remembered the famous ‘promise of Baba Kuhi.’ Baba Kuhi was a Perfect Master-Poet who had died in Shiraz in 1050 and had been buried four miles from Shiraz on a hill named after him. Baba Kuhi had composed a ruba’i that had summed up Hafiz’s position perfectly and gave him some hope ..._
The promise that Baba Kuhi gave was that if anyone could stay awake for forty consecutive nights at his tomb he would grant them the gift of poetry, immortality, and his heart’s desire. Hafiz, interested in the third, vowed to do it, and; he’d had plenty of practice in not sleeping.
Every day Hafiz would go to work at the bakery then he would eat, walk past the house of Nabat, who had heard some poems that of his in praise of her.
She had noticed him passing, each day more weary, but with fire in his eyes that had lit the lamp of her heart for him. Hafiz was in a kind of trance. The only thing that kept him going was the love in his heart and his determination to keep the lonely vigil. On the fortieth day she ran out and threw herself in the dust at his feet, declaring she had lost her heart to him and no longer would marry Abu Ishak, but, he stumbled single-mindedly towards his quest. She remained in love with him for the rest of her life and was his muse through whom he saw and praised God’s Beauty in the most perfect of human form, the female form through which can be contemplated both the creative and the receptive nature of God.
The next morning the arch angel Gabriel appeared and gave Hafiz a cup containing the Water of Immortality and declared he had also received the gift of poetry. Gabriel asked him his heart’s desire. Hafiz could not take his eyes off Gabriel. So great was the Angel’s beauty he had forgotten Nabat. He thought: ‘If Gabriel’s so beautiful, how much more beautiful God must be.’ ‘I want to be united with the Beauty of God!’ He declared.

im just a girl from CHANNELVIEW, TEXAS. i love being from the dirty south. wouldnt have it any other way. some things about me are really interesting, other things, not so much. so to spare you, i'll keep the mundane to myself.
well, for starters, I LOVE MY LIFE! as much i try to complain about everything-i cant. i have a lot of people around me that love me, and that i get to love in return. i live in los angeles where there are a lot of dreamers, artists, visionaries, and some freaks too, so i never get bored. i like old cars and bikes. i love to go vintage shopping. and it is imperitive that i sweat everyday...it just makes me a much nicer person. ive always been a lil boy that looks all girl....i did have a couple of dolls once upon a time. barbies never. matchbox, always. im a lil hot-headed, i love passionate people, i like a lil drama..(not gonna lie-we all do whether we admit it or not) i love my family, im very attached to my own opinion, i love dirty hair, i love to go four-wheelin, i love to feel beautiful, and i love my 72 cutlass. ive said it before, im a lil bitchy-but would bleed for those i love. and thats about it. xo-p align=center>

Sometimes in life it seems as though we are caught in an unending loop. We try to make positive changes in our lives, but we end up right back where we started.
I am speaking from personal experience here. I can tell you that positive change is possible, and that you can break out of those seemingly unending loops. Just keep trying, and eventually when the timing is right, you will make that change that you desire.

We are all searching for a peace and tranquility in our lives. Peace means different things to different people. It could mean lying in the sun by the pool, or hiking though the woods, or it could mean finding that beautiful place and being there when no one else is around.
The peace and tranquility that we seek is not really found in any special place at any special time. It is just a state of mind that we put ourselves in when we find such place and such times.
That said, don’t you think that we could also find peace and tranquility in other places and other times? I think that it is possible, and it just takes a little brain power on our part, but it can be done.

Sometimes we try to make a change but we don't really feel like we are doing anything different. We sometimes feel as though what we are doing really doesn't even matter to anyone.
I can tell you something! What you are doing matters!! You matter!! I know that sometimes change is hard, but if you stay on the right path, it will take you to some really wonderful places.
An old saying says “You can not dig yourself out of a hole”. You may not be able to dig yourself out of a hole, but given the right motivation you can propel yourself out like a rocket and reach new heights never before thought possible.

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves “driving in the fog”. We usually don’t know how we got into the fog in the first place. Most of the time, we also can not see a way out. So we drive along aimlessly hoping that it will eventually clear.
Then something happens in our life. We come across a “light” in the middle of the fog, and we follow this light until we can come out of the fog bank. When we come out the light of the sun seems brighter somehow and the day seems clearer then we ever thought possible.
If you are in a fog, I hope that you soon find that light that will lead you out into a beautiful sunny day. I hope that you have a great weekend and awesome week ahead.
This week, I would like to try something a little different. I am in the process of trying to choose some photographs for upcoming art show. I would like all of you to help me in choosing the photo for the non-color photography category. Here are two of my possibilities. Send me a message, and cast your vote for your favorite one.
May people often get very wrapped up in there likes and dislikes. Take crowds for example. Some people really detest crowds, and there are those who even fear large groups of people. It is interesting though when you think about it that we humans are not the only species on the planet to have to deal with this problem. If you will look around you, there are many examples of “animal crowds”. That would seem to me to prove that crowds are just a part of the natural order of things.
I hope that each and every member of the “crowd” of people that I send this out to has a great week.
