Nataline Sarkisyan passed away on december 20th 2007 because cigna refused to pay for a liver transplant she needed. Although she was insured, cigna refused her the care because they were unwilling to undertake the costs. After much protest cigna retracted their initial refusal but it was too late. Nataline died because america's health insurance industry needs an overhaul.
This project came together when Tony Barkodarian (ailment) and Mike Chakrian (eye2eye) shared their frustration about this story with eachother and decided on a whim to put something together to help the family. at first they just wanted to create a humble amount of funds to donate to the Sarkisyan family's fund, but the project quickly grew legs and has taken new form. The goal is to raise awareness about the corrupt healthcare system in America, and to use that collective awareness to spur REAL CHANGE to the way this country cares (or doesnt care when its too expensive) for its sick.
In the time that has passed since the project first started, ailment and eye2eye have gotten into contact with Nataline's family and are using this song and this website to generate money for the fund created in Nataline's name. Every dollar will help get the word out. So please, download this song and donate some money to Nataline's fund. Together all of us can take responsibility for the change we all desire... one download at a time!!!
We are holding a fashion show, “Fashion Legacy,” on July 12, 2008, to honor the memory of our beautiful, beloved daughter and sister Nataline Sarkisyan.
