NLB is the NATE LAPOINTE BAND, comprised of Nate LaPointe, Cece Sherman, Ivan Johnson, Chris Payne and Dave Johnson. The group, based out of Southern California, has roots in a strong jazz background with eclectic songwriting and rootsy improvisation as its basis.
NLB's unique style and sound was developed by combining four diverse Cal Arts trained musicians; Nate LaPointe on guitar and vocals, Ivan Johnson on acoustic upright bass, Dave Johnson on keys and blues harmonica, and Chris Payne on drums, with the solid vocals of newest member Christine (Cece) Sherman. The result is an assembly of versed and varied musicians who will take you on a musical journey threading through multiple genres with incomparable talent.
When he's not touring with NLB, Nate plays with SoCal's premiere Grateful Dead Tribute band CUBENSIS, as well as soul/R&B legend BOBBY WOMACK. Nate has also worked with such greats as Dave Mason, Vince Welnick, Charlie Haden and Bloodstone.
