Band MembersI don't work with a band. But I do work with film makers. You know, to make films:

Oedipus

Add to My Profile
Oedipus So this is my first short film, made in 2005 with multi award winning collective: RONG UK. Amongst other accolades it scooped the BBC Best New Film-maker Award.

The Body of a Human made in collaboration with my good friend (and better cameraman) Phil Bambridge. It has a rather gentle pace to it, so you may want to make that cup of tea first :)

I Cycle Flowing, drifting, spirited along by sheer poetic joie de vivre, propelled along country lanes, raised above the prosaic life on a mount of steel and rubber...I cycle. I. Must. Cycle.

On Chesil Beach The first in our 'Lower your expectations' series. We take an idea and a camera - then write, shoot, edit and post it before bedtime (and the arrival of creeping doubt). Come play!

InfluencesWhy you, of course. It was all down to you.
Sounds LikeMe. Exactly like me. Uncanny.
Record LabelNope, nothing of the sort.
Type of LabelUnsigned

   About Nathan Filer

About me, eh? Well I write poems. They are about things. Or sometimes other things. Never both. My scribblings have featured on film, television, radio and post-it notes. I also perform at live events across the UK.

If you dig my shizzle then you'll be stoked to know that I've uploaded a whole bunch of archive material onto a popular video sharing site, which you can visit without let or hindrance by clicking your cursor right HERE.

Here are some nice things that nice people have said:

"If the devil has all the best poems as well as tunes then Nathan Filer must have signed a Faustian pact." Elvis McGonagall - Apples & Snakes

"Dextrous, nimble, surreal slam winning rhymes... Beautifully and brutally crafted." Martin Williams - Glastonbury Festival Reviews

“This is so unpretentious and non-indulgent, and thats what makes it such a joy to watch...proper funny." David Tennant - BBC

"Nathan Filer is better than standing in the rain." John Osborne - a heart warming backstage confession at Latitude

Goth v Emo Why? Because like all the important questions in life, this one can be boiled down to its irreducible essence, a sticky residue of inquiry- which would win in a fight? The Goth? Or the Emo? And what of William G Stewart?

Ellipsis Filmed at The Big Chill 09 as part of the campfire sessions. Thanks to Big Chill TV and Apples & Snakes.

Perfidious Albino: a critical appraisal leading to negative conclusions about the portrayal and exploitation of minority groups by the mainstream media.

Hi Nathan,
Love your styles.  Glad you enjoyed the Green Man, (we did too).  We will be at Shambala also and we have a few dates in Bristol in October so hopefully we will see you again soon.  Until such times

I am very hungover and have lost my shoe, so naturally I'm devastated - aside from this all is well!
Do you still do those poems that you do very well or have you eloped and started a new career as a rodeo clown? I dearly hope it is the latter.
Ooh-ooh also I will be in Bristol sometime early september. Wanna 'hang'? (I'm very very cool, so I say things like that.) xx

That you are, Filer.  And thinking of it, I too long for a day like that. Good ol' days when the farmer's market was too far to walk to so the neighbor was the best thing. We were all so much closer back then. And when I say 'we', I mean the people who lived in the 1800's.
Now, there's this. And facebook. We've come so far.

Things are good, sir. How have you been? And I hope "good" is part of your reply!

Haha, thankyou very much!
Ah yes, I've seen them on facebook, they all look really cool if you click really fast through the whole album. Well, that's the entertainment of the evening anyway, that and stalking people in my year on facebook. I'm on a family holiday you see, there's little in the way of fun.
