I began writing playing the piano when I was four years old, and although I had several teachers here and there, I mostly developed my style on my own.
You can hear the influence of Billy Joel and Elton John in my writing; I was always very affected by the great "storytellers," and my style found it's way with much thanks to their inspiration.
I don't limit myself to any one genre as a writer, although as a performer I guess you could classify me as contemporary rock. But more than style I want my music to be effective. It is my hope that my lyrics and melodies be more than just entertainment. Music is a way for me to expose the inner parts of myself so that they can be seen and felt by others. If for even one minute someone sees a reflection of themselves in any lyric, or feels strangely connected to a melody, it is like they are joining in the creative process, and furthering the depth of that song in a way I could never by myself.
