   About Nathan King
Right now I am:
In Auckland...

Doing:
...on the road promoting my new album "The Crowd"

Stay tuned for some live dates about to be announced...

About Me
So... as some of you will know, my band Zed finished up in 2005. We had a very cool 9yrs and good times all round, but good things eventually come to an end. We decided to take an "extended break" so we could all pursue some other things.

There are always tunes meandering around my brain so I spent the second half of '05 writing and preparing for what has become part of my debut solo album. I teamed up with my good buddy Nick Lowe (who is now my manager) and we formed Hum Records to help make it all happen. We hit the studio with producer and all-round legend Brady Blade in November (thanks York St) and had a great time tracking the new songs. Check out the pics page for some shots from the studio.

Ned (Engineer), Brady (Producer), Me & Rachel

The 2nd part of the album was recorded with Producer Greg Haver and engineer Clint murphy at Roundhead Studios in Auckland. The album is now complete and ready for you!

Keep checking out the pics page and the blog and I'll keep you up to date with the latest.

Big love. Nath

And get involved in this...

Hey, I saw your song 'The Saddest Thing' on Juice - the sound/feel was quite Brit aye! Even a bit Robbie Williams like? Or maybe that was just yr look on the video!

Anyway, I think I better pick up a copy of the album...

Alien Left Hand -- What the critics say:

“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew

"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine

"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun." -- Diva Magazine
