  • Bio

deathbed. flowerbed. is a paradox. Life and death seem as if they are opposites. They represent something so structurally beautiful and chaotic at the same time. Historically, overweening pride is the fall of mankind leaving us a faulty means of unity in the here and now. We look for a renewal of community in our newspapers, television sets, the internet, education systems, governments, cell phones, and religions, yet they never seem to bring about a true sense of lasting unity. In this case, the only true unifying factor is struggle. Struggle does not show mercy to even the "best-dressed". The richest man is not completed by his riches. This unity of struggle leaves us in the constant search for a remedy, a cure. Some remedies lead to more struggle, while others exist only to have their significance dwindle with the days. Grace and redemption seem so distant, but hope would not exist if everything was okay right now. Hope rests in the expectancy of a better world and a drive towards that world. The death of our pride and the realization that our world is not okay gives us hope for future grace. This death leads strangely to life; a life of movement to turn this lack-luster world into something beautiful.
