About Nathan Wade & The Dark Pioneers
Nathan Wade & The Dark Pioneers are Seattle’s purveyors of apocalyptic Americana, hitching the rusted scraps of American roots music to a battered pick-up truck and dragging it across a broken 21st Century landscape. It’s a cinematic trip down a desolate highway as the dashboard rattles apart and the truck radio blasts songs of murder, drug abuse, and Biblical arcana.

Their new album, The Chroma Session EP, was recorded live at Chroma Sound Studio in Seattle. It's an electrified, slash-and-burn reinvention of songs from Nathan Wade's debut album, The Dead Leaves Sing, along with a double-barrel shot of new music. The Chroma Session EP stands as a bullet-riddled mile marker on the road to musical armageddon, a future the band is driving into at high speed; behind them, a blood-red sun settles in the dust they've left behind.

Recommended if you like: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Chris Whitley, Night Of The Hunter, gasoline fumes, Cormac McCarthy novels, Led Zeppelin III, dark alleys, the Book of Revelation.

The Chroma Session EP is available at:
CD Baby | iTunes | Amazon MP3 | eMusic

May 3 2009 9:46 PM

Hi Nathan,

I would like to share some exciting news: after a long application process, the NYC Musical Saw Festival was approved
by the Guinness Book of Records to attempt to break the current world record for the 'Largest Musical Saw Ensemble'.
The current world record (set in Poland last year) is 27 musical saw players playing together.
Could we set a new world record on July 18th? We need your help for it!
Please join us and be part of a Guinness World Record breaking attempt at the 7th annual NYC Musical Saw Festival:
When: Saturday, July 18th, 2pm
Where: Trinity Church, 37th street corner of 31st Avenue, Astoria (Queens), NYC.
Admission: $10
Info: www.MusicalSawFestival.org

For the Guinness World Record attempt all sawists will be playing 2 pieces together (in what we call the 'Chorus of the Saws'):
Ave Maria/Schubert - accompanied by church organ
Over the Rainbow - accompanied by piano
The 'Chorus of the Saws' will be conducted by Scott Munson.

Hope to see you there, and please - pass the info on - we need to get as many musical saw players to participate as possible to set a new Guinness World Record!

All the best,

Natalia
