The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by autism. With your support we can make a positive difference to even more people living with autism: a serious, lifelong and disabling condition, which can have a profound - sometimes devastating - effect on individuals and families if they do not get the right support.
We're really excited about launching a profile on MySpace as part of our new campaign "think differently about autism".
The campaign's all about increasing understanding so that the half a million people in the UK who have autism, including Asperger Syndrome, and their families, get the services and support they need.
If you're affected by autism we want to hear your story. If you've never heard of autism, or don't know much about it, we want to give you the chance to find out more.

In December 2008, we asked you to contact your MP and ask them to take forward the Autism Bill if they were selected in the Private Members' Bill ballot. We're delighted that Cheryl Gillan MP, who was drawn first in the ballot, has agreed to take forward the Bill. We now need your support to make sure at least 100 MPs vote in favour of the Bill when it is read in Parliament on 27th February. Without this, we will lose the chance to bring into force the first ever law on autism!
