Influences
Maybe some of the people we've played with will give you an idea where we're at:
Gigs with The Pastels
Appendix Out
International Airport
Movietone
The Styrenes
Acid Mothers Temple
Richard Youngs
Lucky Luke
Music and Movement
Elliot Smith
Jad Fair
Future Pilot AKA
Belle and Sebastian
Empress
Tape
Tenniscoats
Bill Wells' National Jazz Trio of Scotland
Phantom Engineer
This is a very eclectic list for a band with such a monomaniac sound.
Sounds Like
Loose, ten-minutes-long, tape hiss, folky, warm, a bit like the Velvets, lonesome, a stripped-down (musically!) Galaxie 500/ Yo La Tengo, slightly blurred, like it's raining, snowing, really sunny, somewhere between the visceral and the whistleable.
Formed by John Hogarty and Scott Walker (guitar), Simon Shaw and Michael McGaughrin joined when forced into becoming a real band after being offered a gig at the Pastels' club Illumination with Future Pilot AKA.
After nine under-achieving years and seven records, the lineup is now John, Simon, Gerard Love playing guitar and the incredible Eilidh Rodgers on drums. With John moonlighting earlier in the year for Simon's band (Lucky Luke) and lately Music and Movement, plans are afoot for some new National Park shows/ recordings.

The Declining Winter is a new musical project led by Richard Vincent Adams, co-founder of leftfield musical pioneers Hood - influenced by Low, The Durutti Column and York City FC.
Skip your tea for the magnificent, synth-laden 7VWWVW (aka MAMMAL), and Doogie Paul of James Yorkston and the Athletes upright bass infamy.
Would love to use, Sterling if possible, absolutely love it. Will have to get it from you though, unless I can buy it somewhere. Thanks for the Magic Markers CD too. Excellent.
I still remember the gig you guys played at the arts centre down here in London a few years back with Music & Movement. Top nite and I've been a fan ever since! ;)
I bought your debut 10" on Earworm and I think I saw you live too (Shepherd's Bush Empire, around 1998, can't remember who you were supporting - Belle & Seb?).
Nice to find you here, still doing the good stuff.
Doing anything this Tuesday? (probably tonight if you're reading this in time) Why not come to the 13th Note on King Street!!! The Good Anna invite you to enter the drums and guitar maelstrom, expect everything from drowning bears to brave young sailors. Master Japanese percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani joins Glasgow improv heavyweights Davidson/Nicholson (AKA Age of Wire and String) hot on the heels of a blistering UK tour with Raymond MacDonald. There will be support from the still nameless new project featuring Chris Hladowski, Hanna Tuulikki, Ben Reynolds with special guest Patrick Farmer, and also Nalle DJs. 8pm. 4 pounds.
