Real name: Joël Joseph Ricardo, first saw the light of day on April 12th, 1991. Just like Chris and Romarique, Joël began making music in his early teens. When he was 15, he started out by recording songs with the use of a simple webcam microphone, and at the time, he seemed pleased with the results. Joël kept on recording songs this way, however he wanted to rap to his own beats instead of instrumentals. The search of finding a producer, who was willing to work with him failed.
In 2006, Joël decided to produce his own beats. His 1st beat was a hit among friends, and that motivated him to create at least one new beat every day. In 2007, he ended up in the group ‘For the World’, where Chris was also a part of. Through some experiences Joël and Chris left ‘For the World’.
Joël, Chris and Romarique got to know one another better and they founded the Nation of Elzi in May 2008.
Rome
Romarique Aurel Levant a.k.a. Rome, was born on April 28th,1987 in Amsterdam, where he also grew up. At the age of 13, he used to watch the ‘Lyricist Lounge Show’ on MTV and that inspired him to start making music. Back in the day, Romarique hung out with a group called ‘Da Groove Click’and it didn’t take him long to join their group, which led to him performing in several shows in the city of Amsterdam (Melkweg, paradiso, Bitterzoet).
During this amazing experience Romarique met a lot of different people, including Dangarus.C.
Dangarus.C
Chris Rodrey Wormhoudt, better known as Dangarus.C, was born on the 2nd day of Christmas in 1986, he grew up in the Southeast district of Amsterdam. When Dangarus.C hit the age of 16, he started out by creating beats with the help of simplistic beat making programs. While most kids spent their time playing outside, Chris was always focused on his music. In secondary school, Chris got to know Lumia, and they decided to form a crew called ‘Reverse’.
After ‘Reverse’ Chris joined ‘Black-Glove-ent’. Soon after ‘Black-Glove-ent’ disbanded, Chris got a project at Studio West. Meanwhile, Chris was also involved with the groupl ‘For the World’ where he met Joël. ‘For the World’ did not turn out to be a success for Chris and he chose to carry on with his career in music, solo. In 2008, he got exposed through several producer battles and he even won the ‘Crowds Favourite Award’ at the ‘Spin the Mic 2008’ event. Not long after that, Chris, Joël and Romarique formed a much closer bond.
